You have to get along with your mom or lose children& with these photographs & mental health history you will lose in court.....Summer 2002 never addressed the Lawyer from Mercer Island that her black female receptionist left a message on my home phone changed an apt. A year plus of legal maneuvering and now I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. The Dubois Cary Law Firm was referred by another reputable Seattle law firm as 'a firm with heart and drive'. I came to Amanda Dubois and her team with what seemed like a pretty straightforward case of people needing to separate and move on. I was looking for someone who would help guide me through the divorce system without losing sight of what was truly important to me ---the children. Amanda did just that.As time progressed and the case presented itself, it became apparent that this wasnt such a straightforward case at all. The Dubois Cary Law Firm rose to the challenge in every instance. Amanda is very well-versed in family law and was a wealth of information. They werent afraid to go beyond their physical space or expertise to bring in consultants to advise on the case when it moved beyond family law. I really appreciated that they valued me as a client (and person) and werent just focused on the billable hourly they could have garnered had they kept it all in house. The people that they brought in to consult were nothing less than amazingly sharp and talented in their respective areas. Amanda built a wonderful team of experts that kept their eye on the ball, thought out of the box and kept me grounded. Their talents complimented Amandas skillset and that of her team. I had a nightmarish divorce case that went on for a year and ended up with a week-long(!) court trial. My ex-wife went with a big-shot downtown lawyer who promised her the sun, the moon, and the whole sky. I went with DuBois Cary. And, boy, was it a right choice! I knew right away that I did not want big-shot lawyers because to them you are just a stream of billable hours, they could care less about you, and I wanted somebody who cared about me and what I was going through. So I browsed the web sites of divorce attorneys, not seeing quite what I wanted, until I came across the web site of DuBois Cary. On some deep intuitive level I knew that this was it. I was not mistaken. I got started with Monica but then she had to take a maternity leave and I worked with Amanda and Lucia. They were wonderful. Through 2 parenting evaluations that my ex-wife forced on me, through endless allegations that I had to fight, they stood by my side both professionally and personally. When they say about themselves 'compassionate legal representation', they mean it. They were my counsel, they were my support team. They encouraged me through my darkest hours. We went to trial and the court approved my version of the parenting plan as being in the best interests of the child. I could not have done it without them. My representation turned out to be much more thorough and professional than that of my ex-wife, and they were compassionate, too! I doubt that my ex-wife's attorney was checking in on her at nights or on weekends just to see how she was holding up. Amanda and Lucia were. It's been 4 years since my divorce was finalized and we still keep in touch, they always want to know how my daughter and I are doing, what's happening in our lives. How many attorneys do that? Top-notch professionals and caring people. I highly recommend them.
