I retained this firm after filing an antiharrassment protection order against a man who has been thrice convicted of assaulting me, and with whom I share a school age child. After the split he began a decade long tirade of continuous verbal abuse, intimidation, threats & harassment. I decided to lawyer up in the hope my request for relief would be granted. As we stood waiting for our courtroom to open up my attorney told me that he is usually on the other side of these cases, working for domestic abusers to make sure their victims aren't able to retain houses in divorces. Demonstrating an egregious yet typical misunderstanding of domestic violence issues as related to family law. He also warned me my advocate may not like him, as he'd had many prior dealings w/her, always from the other side. I had to stop him mid-disclosure to keep from being sick.Ultimately my order was granted, thanks to a well-written petition, the presence of an advocate from DVS, and most importantly, a sympathetic judge.As for the representation I received here, my thoughts are the following: This firm is indistinguishable from a dozen other downtown Everett law firms. I found the lawyer I worked with here to be green behind the ears, shallow in both character and legal strategy. His grasp on the true nature of my case was tenuous at best. And his presence in court made no discernible difference in the outcome. He served simply as a body standing between myself and the respondent. He formulated no argument on my behalf, but instead just read straight from my filing until the judge stopped him.I hear this firm has 2 senior partners but I never saw either, so I can't speak to them. Out to lunch, I guess. If you're a wife-beater trying to minimize the effect of your crimes on your divorce or family law case, these guys, like hundreds of others, will help you with that. I got the impression this constitutes the bulk of their practice. But if you're a DV Survivor in search of justice, self-preservation, and the protection of your person & children, look elsewhere. These are foreign concepts to the lawyers of this firm, to be trivialized and met with suspicion. A belief system that appears to trickle down from the top, not unique to the specific lawyer I worked with. I would not retain them again. Parking is free but often full. Addt'l parking may be found in a lot across from the public library one street over on Hoyt.

Finding the right divorce attorney can be challenging. There are many law offices to choose from. My search led me to the Law Office of Leonard Kerr. I made an initial call to their office and spoke to Gabriela who is a very dedicated paralegal staff member that was able to answer all of my questions about the firm and then schedule an appointment for me with attorney Diane Stanton. During my first appointment Diane outlined what the required procedures are and what case documents would need to be submitted to get started.It was obvious that this would be a very complex process to navigate to completion. Within my case there were many facets and issues to be dealt with that represented many years of marriage. I did feel a sense of relief to know that I had enlisted Diane who is a very competent and well experienced attorney to guide and represent me in this case.My successful case required well developed strategies, mediations and final negotiations. Also I was advised that sometimes compassion can go a long way. That was very valuable advice. Having an attorney with many years of knowledge and experience in this field was imperative. Outstanding family law firm from the attorneys to the support staff. Knowledgeable, responsive and kind. We never thought we would be in a position to require a family law attorney. I was in need of a last minute family law lawyer and I could not have been happier with finding such a great frim. They were the only ones that were able to provide me top notch service on such sort notice. I really enjoyed the fact that their response to my situation was 'Lets get it done' In a short 48 hours just before thanksgiving they were able to prepare my case and create a court winning strategy that ultimately provided me with the outcome I was wanting. They are very timely with responses and showed a level of compassion towards both parties that I did not think existed in this field. Overall I would use their services again if the need arises.

After 13 years of separation and being jerked around by my ex, I finally hired Dustin Hoegemeyer.Dustin is very good at what he does. He is bright, professional and has a very clear understanding of the law.He and Gabriella did a very good job for me and I highly recommend their services.Not only are they extremely proficient but they're darling and can appreciate humor. Which made this gut wrenching process slightly more tolerable.However, what I respected the most about Dustin is, since mediation was mandatory for us, he stopped the back and forth with opposing counsel and scheduled mediation immediately.He could've kept going and racked up my bill but he did not! And that was greatly appreciated. Dustin truly is a fine, outstanding young man.He also offered his advice on my financial future. On how best to handle the copius amount of debt I've acquired over the years. When I realized I was going to need an attorney to fight for custody of my daughter I didnt know where to begin. I called around a few places and most wouldnt even talk to me without a retainer.
