I was first represented by Emily in 2018 for a custody matter and was extremely confident in her abilities to get me the best results, unfortunately Emily branched out on her own and the results I received from her previous office was nothing compared to what I know she would have gotten me ! Excellent expert help handling my dissolution. We were in the courtroom less than ten minutes and done - it was practically a drive-thru ! Don't bother going to a website that promises to deliver all of the needed paperwork. Hiring a legal mind right at the start is easier and less stressful than finding out the county court can't use most of the paperwork I had purchased and filled out on-line. Lesson learned! Even though my ex-wife and I pretty much had agreed on most of the details, Emily was a great help in making a painful process less stressful. Thank you SO much! Emily Sluk helped my husband and I renegotiate the shared parenting agreement almost 9 years after it was initially filed. My step-son's mother wanted to move away (out-of-state) and Emily helped ease our minds and drew up the paperwork quickly and accurately. It was filed and approved with record setting time. The mother's attorney kept dragging his feet and not writing up the paperwork. Emily took the bull by the horns and made us feel heard and safe. I would hire Emily Sluk again in a heartbeat.

Would not hire!! Emily did not disclose until at least three months into my case with MCCS for custody of my 18 month old grandson that she was in the process of becoming a MCCS foster parent---apparently conflict of interest is not worth reveling to a client. I was billed for actions she took two days after I fired her. And I did fire her after she told me--just before a court hearing while we were outside the court room--that she couldn't get me custody but would try to get me visitation rights--which I already had. What a waste of $2500 and six months when I could have been working with an attorney not in cahoots with MCCS. In my opinion not a good attorney.

Worst attorney ever. Do not hire. She dropped my case a month out from the divorce being finalized for 'breakdown in communication.' She constantly scolded me and made me feel worse about my life circumstances. Now I am out $3000 and have to find a new lawyer. Beware! Do not hire Emily Sluk.
