She's unsympathetic & very arrogant. I'm not a client of Mrs. Harley, but had a consultation and decided that she wasn't a match for me. She was very disgustingly rude, She basically called me a bad mother. I was supposed to have court in 2017 never was served or aware of it. I lost my oldest son in 2018. She told me that it shouldn't have taken 3 years to seek representation. Why would I seek representation, and I wasn't emotionally unstable to do so. Then she stated that she is the mother of three kids and, she would never do that.

She's tough, she will not be man handled. Mrs. Hatley is very professional and knows how to navigate through this process. Her staff is so warm and caring. I just cannot say enough about how they have given me support in this most tragic time. There were times that because of the unknown I was very concerned but with each time I saw I am in the best hands and I'm very thankful. The Hatley Firm also uses a website called My case and I was able to keep up with all my dated and upload important documents for my case with out having to run all over to get them to her. I could send her messages through the site and almost in real time get answers to my questions and any concerns.

I spoke with them many times prior to payment. I even provided them with copies of driving record. I had multiple old issues and asked if they could help the staff assured me they could. I asked a time frame and the staff assured me in a week or two. I paid 2000 dollars and now they have schedule court in mid MAY 2020 that is over 3 months away. Not in the week or two discussed. My license was suspended for failure to appear. Then I got ticket for driving while suspended. These were for non moving violations not DUIs just being slack on my part. HOWEVER THEY WERE MADE AWARE UP FRONT AND THAT I WANTED IT RESOLVED ASAP.I WAS ASSURED THAT WOULD HAPPEN. I received the emails regarding the scheduled court case just now at nearly 10pm....smh. I am soooooooo upset. I FEEL LIKE I HAVE BEEN HUSTLED.

If I could give 0 stars I would .I hurt myself in 2018 and was without a job for a couple years , I came here seeking to lower my child support and get more visits if not custody of my kid .For the last 2 years I sat down with this lady maybe 5 times to get ready and set up for this case .Its now Jan 27, 2020 and the court case is over and I still havent got the child support reduced I still have no job and I only got 1 extra day of visitation.The child support case was set for late Feb 2020 , and for some reason the attorney wants to retract representation!I wish this lady would have done what I asked her from the beginning which was lowering my child support for the fact I was making a bunch of money and couldnt handle paying an astronomical amount of money and not being employed.Im here to warn you all Hatley is very busy, shes stays in the courthouse all day long and has no time , apparently shes overbooked.Feb 16 Update So apparently she run up a 3,500$ retainer doesnt keke the cal inept informed on any bulls and suggest you do continue so no special court seasons ? Why would you suggest a special sessions knowing you spent the money up ? Now shes trying to daybreaks I Owen her 1000$ dollars ? This lady is outta her dam mind .

My Ex filled a modification to get Custody of our son, I was extremely terrified and worried about the case, mainly because he filled in another county and the lawyer he had had tremendously great reviews. Mrs. Hatley has continued to reassure me through this process; she got the venue moved to the correct county, She's extremely knowledgeable and aggressive (which I love) embarrassing the other lawyer in front of a judge and my ex and showing how well prepared and knowledgeable about family law she is.Her staff and she are amazing informing me of what my rights are and what I am entitled.We are so grateful to have found The Hatley Law Firm!We would highly recomend her to everyone!

When I scheduled my appointment I made it clear that I had to pick up my daughter by 6pm so the receptionist and I decided 4:30pm would be an adequate time. It would allow my husband and I to get done with work at a fairly decent time and I would have at least an hour to talk to a lawyer for a $90 consultation. So when I showed up to my appointment on time, informed to pay the consultation money upon arrival and then told I had wait because she was still in another consultation, I was pretty taken back. After 15 minutes of waiting, I became annoyed asked for a refund because at this point Im not paying to talk to someone for less than an hour. I didnt get an apology from anyone in the office. It was really demeaning having to explain my situation when I booked my appointment, leave work early and then have to be pushed to the side without an apology or call back when things didnt plan out accordingly. Very disappointing!

I know it's tax time and everyone has extra cash and they may being seeking legal help, please take your business elsewhere! Pay attention people to the bad reviews they are REAL! this I know from my horrible experience with this firm. During my consultation she told me another clients business, she hired the attorney who was representing my wife. Her staff also lost important documents that I produced for my case. Good luck with trying to have a phone conversation with your paralegal, because that's not going to happen. I was never notified by the firm that I had a new paralegal working on my case. This attorney is very money hungry and she takes advantage of her clients. Please be aware! My case was quite complex and highly emotional as child custody cases normally are. I was extremely uneasy about what the entire process would be, as I had never had to deal with a situation that had so much at stake. I researched attorneys online and came across Ms. Hatleys Office. Attorney Hatley was a professional saving grace for me in a time of personal challenge. She is extremely experienced and very competent and as such has a high work load due to her client demand. However, despite how busy she is, she is extremely responsive. Her attention to detail and ability to remember the details of my case when I know she has so many others was always impressive to me. I couldn't have asked for finer representation and as I've told her, she will always be on my Christmas Card distribution.

Miss Hatley did nothing to help my childrens case, shes lazy and her paralegals are even worse. I was never informed of court dates or documents in time, while the other party was aware I was in the dark. She makes a trial 6 months out, meanwhile Im instructed to pay money on this therapist alida Mason, and get drug test every month.. Go to this class, money here, money there and did I mention she loves to Bragg on herself. Your doing the work for her, she does absolutely nothing. When the date comes, shes in another trial, and she says afterward that we can schedule a special session. She tells my mother the next morning a court date was set for next month and I was informed. No I was not informed. Meanwhile my children are asking to come home, and the stress of not having them has caused health issues and this women up and quits on me. Do not go to this women unless you want to throw away your money. Shes an awful lawyer.

It was a draft that was not supposed to be posted until the final adjudication. As stated, it is my first encounter with Ms. Hatley and I was waiting to see what the outcome would be. It was meant to be a neutral assessment for my benefit awaiting further actions and updates until the final review could be posted. That time has come and I am revising this review based on performance as well as outcome. The five star rating is very much deserved. Ms. Hatley's performance was exemplary in both the courtroom setting and in preparation regardless of what the outcome might have been. Her focus and attention to detail were exactly what was needed. As a result, the outcome was what was hoped and prayed for. God answers prayer and works through those who trust and submit to Him. It is an honor to say that in my opinion, Ms. Hatley is a faithful servant. As for that price thing: to quote a popular TV ad, Ms. Hatley's service - priceless!

I went into the office to prepare for court to only find out my case didn't even make it onto the docket, which was their fault. And the attorney had the nerve to get into an argument with me. So unprofessional! And this is NOT A SPAM I was a client, I can provide pictures of my receipts!

DO NOT USE.The best way to get rid of lawyers like this is keep contacting North Carolina State Bar to let them know what a unprofessional, uncaring, shyster ANGELA HATELY is. I strongly suggest filing a grievance .She is sheisty she went behind our back and filed a motion to with draw as our attorney with out even telling us and not finishing contract. Then when I confronted her about it she went behind are back again a filed a motion for withdrawal as lawyer but this time said attorney client conflict. If I was not a client how come my name is on contract LIAR. You are unethical lawyer. It took her over 20 months to get permanent child support and 9 months to get temporary child support. She also promised to get defendant to pay lawyer fees. Instead of finishing her job like it stated in contract. She went behind our back and filed a motion to withdraw as our attorney. She didn't even try if she would have filed paper work and fees were not paid by defendant I would have no issues. She did nothing. If you want a long drawn out case pick her then have her lie and not complete the job. The front office staff is also unprofessional the secretary will not let you know you have a court date. Are call you 5 min before and say you have a court date or it has been canceled due to Mrs. Hatley having a case more important than yours. If your case is not important to her she does not care about you. If you are a single parent and need the money for your kids. I would not use this lawyer you will go broke before you see a single penny from the other partner who owes child support. I hope this review helps other people and heed warning using This lawyer.

Bottom line up front: Communication was severely lacking and she didnt make us feel like a priority.-Several times that I called, I didnt receive a call back.-I called on July 14th for an update. After patiently waiting a month, I called again on August 14th for any new information. My paralegal said there has been several things happening but gave me the same info from July. -Hatley said she would file subpoenas on Bills, bank accounts, insurance, ect. *She did not* at all. However, I was subpoenaed for a Years worth of pay stubs the night before the trial.-Sure, court must take a while and I imagine there is a lot of red tape, but when I confronted the office for not returning calls and taking weeks to respond, they annotated in my file that He apologized for being impatient. Are you kidding me? -Mrs. Hatley recommended that we hire a private investigator for cohabitation. I mentioned that the person living with my ex, might have a different address. She persisted. I hired a PI; for $1,500. After which Hatley agreed to accept the case. Only later to mention him having a different address would kill the case. -Icing on the cake: I called her office to inform them that my wife was being induced into labor in November, a few days before court. They asked if I wanted to reschedule, I said absolutely not, I am about to deploy. I showed up to court with my wife and 3 day old daughter only to have No represensation. I called her office and they, in a very condescending way, told me it had been rescheduled!!! Now, Im deployed and today, I find out that hiring her was an absolute waiste. On the bright side, Id do it all over again just to know my ex wife had to pay an attorney. I would not hire Hatley if my life depended on it. Her review rating makes no sense at all.Hire someone else.

My husband received a hefty speeding ticket and I decided to hire Hatley Law Firm because their pricing was one of the lowest I have seen! They called me and in just a matter of minutes the payment was taken. They also informed me of what they expected to get his ticket reduced to. I received an email the same day as his court date telling me they got it reduced to where there would be no points or insurance increases! Given his prior driving record I was surprised! Overall they are competitively priced, professional, and informative! If in the future I ever need any legal assistance they will be the first firm I call!

Attorney Hatley and her staff are amazing. My experience was absolutely five stars! My ex was difficult, to say the least and Attorney Hatley knew exactly what to do at every turn. I live out of state and was a bit skeptic if a lawyer would really be invested in my case. Not only was she vested in my case, I felt she was vested in me as a person. She was always available by either phone or email. Many times I would email in the evenings thinking she would get to it the next work day and she would email me back quickly. I don't think she ever stops working.My ex has been manipulating the system for years, making it difficult to see my kids and making my life miserable. I did not think there was much I could do. I am so glad I made the phone call to speak with Attorney Hatley. She was honest and upfront with me. She told me what she could do and how much it would cost and she honored her word, every bit of it. A rare find in today's world. I now get to see my kids more often and the custody agreement is bullet proof! I have seen many active duty military get the short end of the stick when it comes to custody. If you are going through a divorce or custody issues, you need to hire Attorney Hatley.
