The thought of hiring an attorney to resolve a parental agreement modification terrified me. I was struggling to find a legal firm to represent me in this time sensitive matter. I found the Owenby Law firm on an internet search and was impressed by the positive reviews and thought that this was the kind of firm I wanted representing me in my family legal matter. I was very skeptical on submitting the online contact form, and was concerned on not hearing back from them. What I can say is that I was impressed with how quickly Owenby Law reached out to me (same day response!), listened to my legal needs, and quickly identified Joshua Kelne to represent me in my legal matter. Working with Joshua was a real pleasure. Joshua was diligent in his research and in preparing for my case. He was also very organized with a clear plan in place. He kept me updated on the status of the case regularly throughout the weeks, and took the time to prepare me for our hearing in advance. I can say with great excitement that having Joshua as my legal representative is the only reason why our case was a success. Thank you Joshua for you hard work and dedication to my case. I found Tawny Rountree after an almost 2 years with a set of incompetent Attorneys. Mrs. Rountree was a true blessing. My case was difficult, a shared business, a child and many assets among other things. She walked into my case like a breath of fresh air. She is knowledgeable, she is a fearless, and she is kind. Most importantly, she is down to earth. She makes you feel so comfortable in a time where you feel most vulnerable. Mrs. Rountree took my case, quickly gathered the information that was missing and got the case in front of a judge in no time. She was able to help me gain sole custody of my son (this is rare in FL) and my son and I were able to keep what was rightfully ours. Please trust me when I say, there are many family law attorneys out there that will give you a dog and pony show, they will convince you that they are competent and then drag you and your wallet through the mud. Worse experience ever! Impossible getting anyone to give you an update on your case. All communication is via messaging system. Nothing is ever done when promised and surprise charges always pop up. Even when you do meet with the attorney the paperwork doesn't match what you discussed so they can bill you for more hours and filing fees to fix it.

Literally unreliable and robbed me and my family of 6000 dollars within 2.5 weeks before coming off case. This firm is obviously for the scams. I don't recommend what so ever and prior reviews are of self employees .

I was highly disappointed with the service I received from this law firm. I would have expected the lawyer to draw from her experience to advise me and allow me to make informed decisions on how to proceed, that did not happen. The lawyer did A LOT of unnecessary work that wasn't explained to me. Had I been advised on what the purpose of the paperwork was, along with pros and cons I could have made better decisions and potentially saved a lot of money. In my divorce mediation I was not well represented, or defended. My lawyer did not have a strong personality and is not suited for a situation where negotiation skills are necessary. I would not recommend this law firm, nor would I return to them. The most frustrating part on my whole divorce was realizing in hindsight that I had inferior representation. I highly recommend you find a lawyer that comes off a recommendation from someone that has personal experience with them. I based my decision on what seemed to be high ratings on google review. Expensive life lesson learned.
