Experience Advocate - Compassionate Supportive Fighters - HopeMy Story: During my search for a divorce attorney, it became apparent that my situation was going to be difficult. Conversations with one attorney left me without hope. I then sought the advice from four friends, with varied legal experience, all who recommended Cathy, stating that shes an excellent attorney with much experience who would fight for me. During my first visit with Cathy, she too indicated the circumstances were indeed difficult, but at the same time, I could almost see in her mind that she was trying to figure out a way to make it work. She mentioned a couple strategies and it was then, I felt hope. I knew that Cathy was to be my advocate; she would fight for me.During information gathering and subsequent communications with opposing counsel, I primarily worked with Cathys paralegal, Amber, who was incredibly encouraging, helpful, wise and supportive.Yes, there were tough times, nonetheless, I stuck to the trust I had in these two women with over 60 years of legal experience between them. Wisely, Cathy suggested mediation because of my situation. She was well prepared for mediation and articulately explained the options to me throughout the process. Finally, we looked at each other and smiled. We knew we had accomplished the goals we had sought. Time for a high five!

My experience with Lighty Law Office was not a good one. I had several meetings with one of the members who was helping to handle my case and on more than one occasion I was confused with another client who had the same name as mine which concerned me that they were unorganized. My main concern was important information I had offered going unheard until I brought it up multiple times. After adding it to my case they failed to send it to the judge until after it was due. The judge wouldn't use the information for that reason.

The parking can be tricky and they are on the spendy side. However the staff have been very compassionate and understanding so far.

Spent more time telling me why they couldnt help me than listening to what my problem was.

Divorce is obviously one of the most stressful things a person could face, but so glad I hired Cathy and her firm. Worked with her and Amber (her paralegal) and both were exceptionally competent and placed me at ease as I consistently felt my case was in good hands. Cathy is a strong advocate and knows her stuff, and that definitely came across in the courtroom. At bottom, Cathy and the firm are just the types of representatives a person facing the collapse of their marriage should want, that is, advocates who will convincingly present your case and character in such a manner which preserves your dignity throughout the legal process.

Great experience! Everything went very smoothly with my case and Amber was amazing. She kept me posted on everything and answered all my questions in a way I could understand.

Would recommended to anyone. From the Legal Assistants to the Lawyer, amazing and very personable. Glad I went their route.

I hired Catherine lighty, and she did wonders at first then with out telling me she pass me off to Lauren that Practice in the same office with out asking me or having my sign an new contract for having a new lawyer. I feel Catherine was more in it for money. She had let my ex's lawyer talk her into putting in the order that because of my DV I couldn't have my son and also cuz of my pending charge but the judge only said pending charge and his lawyer came over asked her if it was ok and she told him yes. As a lawyer she should told Christopher no to that in the order. The next thing I have emails back and forth asking to put in child support in the order from Lauren and she never put it in so I went with out it for a year now. When I wanted to take him back for it they wanted me to pay down my Balance after I just paid her over 1,000. I feel they just want money and keep making me go back to court to fight for my son. Also she new a had a pending charge I was waiting and fighting for in court my ex had on me and lighty went to court even with the pending charge at that time I lost cuz of the pending charge waiting to be drop. I believe she should never let me go back to court tell it was done and over with. I lost having my son for full custody because of it. Make sure you speck up and don't let them do what you don't want and double look over paper work. I wish i would done things different and had a lawyer who would truly fight for me.

Unfortunately I hired Danial Lorello who 'dumped' me half way through my divorce. That did not bode well. My X hired Ms Lighty and she was represented very well indeed. Very professional and very good representation. Wish I could have a 'redo' with Ms. Lighty in MY corner, but oh well...I heard Mr. Lorello 'retired'...tisk tisk...
