This office closes without notice . And they never answer the phone.
Michael Bray
Extremely difficult to get through their antiquated phone system. I had to drive to Ft. Bliss, go to one gate for a day pass, enter through a different gate and locate their building - all the while on hold trying to get through! Once there, they are efficient and very helpful. This office needs better support!

Absolutely zero help from anyone. I spoke to four people. Just an office for them to give you the run around with. They 100% support the soldier and not the family the soldier makes, lives with or supposed to support. I was told to call elpaso pd. Thats the level of help I received.

Great place for military and their families to get legal paperwork done.

Well its toxic and they threw several CID cases out and never investigated them. It's far beyond corrupt and they dont take sexual assault seriously.

It's Legal 'Assistance', not Legal 'Do Everything For You'. The 100,000+ Soldiers and dependents stationed at Fort Bliss get into tons of legal issues. There are only 2 to 3 legal assistance attorneys. They do a pretty good job and are free. If you're expecting to be pampered and by an OJ Simpson style defense team, you might need to save a few thousand dollars and hire an off-post attorney. If you're looking for a free and competent attorney to ASSIST you with your legal issue, this is the right place.

Notaries declined to notarise a signature on a will and POA for myself and my wife because they felt 'uncomfortable' and explained that they did not know the legal ramifications of the documents. This was, in actuality, a method of dodging a little work. The notary does not need to know the content or ramifications of the document. They only need to identify the signer, view the signing and add their seal stating that they did so. They did offer to have an attorney review the documents if we would only wait a couple of weeks. That, of course, was just an attempt to justify their refusing to do work.

Went to the Fort Bliss Legal Office to have two documents notarized and was told that I would have to have a lawyer present to do this because the documents pertained to property. Showed the office both documents and the clear instructions that did not state a lawyer was required but was still turned away stating that I would have to call and schedule an appointment and this could take 10 days. I did not have 10 days obviously as I walked in with my husband to get the documents done. I was then told to contact ACS to get my notary done. ACS told me they don't do notaries; they send people to legal. Needless to say I have wasted a trip aswell as my husband's time and nothing was accomplished. Now I will have to pay to get my documents notarized because there are personnel in the Legal office (military and civilian) who aren't familar with the purpose of a notary which is to verify I am who I say I am. A simple signature and stamp from a notary verifying my person is all that was required not scrutiny of the contents of the documents. Very disappointed with the Legal office and their service.
