I have used Attorney Matt Zimmerman to represent me in seeking a court ordered protective order, to finalize a divorce, to write my last will and testament, to seek an expungement, and to file an affidavit in a contempt of court matter.In each case, Matt was found to be professional, compassionate, organized, thoughtful, resourceful and courteous. When I first walked into his office I was newly separated, had recently lost my livelihood and was absolutely terrified for my future. I was divorcing a retired military member and I was confused as to how to handle seeking what I was entitled to regarding my ex-husbands retirement funds and benefits. Matt was insightful and patient; he was able to explain each step in laymans terms so I could understand what was happening and would be able to know what to expect. Matt and his staff always responded quickly to my concerns via phone calls, emails and/or with appointments for an in person consultation if the situation garnered it. Not once did I feel as if I wasnt fully represented in any step of the process.Matt was clear and concise in his communication with the court, he was always fully prepared and was able to offer a comfort to my anxiousness. I went to seek help from Dax for a criminal defense matter, after firing my first paid attorney in Abilene. Here I received extreme professionalism. My case was treated as more of a priority. I never had to call and find out the status, or any changes in my case. I was always notified first. Their staff is sweet, and friendly. Although, race is not a variable. I am African American. Dax was my attorney. He communicated what was happening with my case along the way really well. My case brought many special obstacles and challenges. During the case I felt like I had no power or rights in the situation due to the way Taylor County and the media handled the case. Good for me that I had Dax as my lawyer. Dax fought for my cause at every turn. He pursued every avenue I had available. In the end he got me a good deal. I am confident that I would not have gotten as good of deal without him as my representative.

Retaining zimmerman was the 2nd biggest mistake of my life. Its not possible for him to have cared less about, or put less effort into, my case. I once ordered a breakfast sandwich at Burger King that, upon opening, had a bite into it. However, I was more satisfied with my food-service experience that day, than with my legal representation.The worst part about hiring the clown, as another commenter refers to him, is the embarrassment. He cant get the other lawyer on the phone so your divorce goes on for two years, gets terrible deals from the judge or other lawyers, he bows down to the other lawyers (according to one of his colleagues), and doesnt seem to know how to correctly file a document without mistakes or omissions. He couldnt even quit as my lawyer correctly because the first motion to withdraw as counsel was not accepted by the judge.Any reference to him being a top lawyer is absurd and totally misleading. In retrospect, I regret not looking closer at dudes credentials beforehand. I would have tried to find someone who graduated from a more reputable law school where ethics, integrity, and attention to detail are values instilled. I received a low tier performance, if you want to call it that. Im probably unlikely to ever hire a tech grad again, if you want to know the truth of it...just cringe-worthy!

Dax was very professional, knowledgeable, and able to guide me with any concerns or questions I had. I have used legal services in the past, which did not respond to my emails or phone calls for days. Dax was quick to respond via telephone or email, and communicated well explaining legal jargon to me, and being open about best case scenarios and worst case scenarios so I understood what to expect. He did an excellent job, and I will definitely refer to him in the future.

Dax took our case when it seemed impossible to turn anywhere else.We had no clue who he was as a lawyer and had already been taken for a ride by a previous lawyer with the same case. We literally called from lawyer office to lawyer office trying to find someone to take my husband's case. When we went in Dax immediately made us understand what needed to happen and what our choices would be, even if it meant hearing what we didn't really want to hear. I'm surprised Jacob won a case. His first case was like watching a kindergardner on his first day of class. Waited till a week before the trial to sepoena any witness. Then relied on the theory that the defendant is actually innocent until proven guilty. In today's society if you are accused you are guilty and you have to prove your innocent. That why you pay the big bucks for a so called good lawyer who does nothing but take your money. I thought I'd be ok and get over how bad Mr. Zimmerman performed for me. But it has actually been worse. It seems that every week that goes by I discover more damage that came about from his terrible service. Somebody needs to tell him he needs to find another profession and quit ripping people off and making matters worse. In my business or in most businesses you have to refund monies if the customer is not happy but I guess that's where attorneys have it over on us. If you notice this clown won't respond to my ugly review. I came back to add to this review (03/18/20). I just found out that having this so called attorney read a contract has cost me a financial loss that easily exceeds $ 200,000.00
