I would first like to genuinely and sincerely thank Mrs. Smith and Mr. Miller for their diligence, professionalism, concern and dedication to my case. While stars, are in my personal opine a rudimentary/puerile method for assigning value to the abilities of a person or organization, it is the system I am confined to (by Google). Further, I am only allowed a maximum of 5. In that, as I only am afforded 5 to give, then Ill gladly give all of them to Miller & Smith Law Firm. Though I have conveyed this both directly and in private, I would like to openly/publicly thank you both from the bottom of my heart for all that you have done for me, my children and my family.While ultimately you were doing that for which you were paid, you did an exceptional job and one that should serve as an example to other firms. Words simply cannot convey the value of the outcome of my case to me, one which was directly affected by you both!!For the reader(s) of this: In a simplified and yet relevant synopsis of the particulars, I am a veteran of the armed forces and I remain aligned with the defense efforts of our great nation. I was overseas and found that my spouse was having an affair and that she intended to file for divorce. I have two children of this marriage and was the provider for the household. The affair was admitted and validated openly, and my ex secured counsel almost immediately after I became aware of her infidelities. Her counselor filed paperwork and had me barred from my home, property and children before I had even touched American soil or had the chance to secure legal representation, further I was not afforded any opportunity to rebut the erroneous claims filed against me. I was facing no custody of or visitation with my children (initially), followed by only weekend visitation, eviction from my residence, alimony, post-separation support (for my ex to sustain her lifestyle), child support, requirement to maintain financial responsibility for all marital property and bills, and responsibility for my exs attorney fees. Although words may not suffice to convey my perspective, appreciation and rating of Mrs. Smith and Mr. Miller comprehensively, should you find yourself in the market for legal services offered in the areas practiced by Mrs. Smith and Mr. Miller and you have happened upon this review, I will certainly attempt to do so in the subsequent chronicle of my experience. If you dont like to read or read much, feel free to stop here and Ill just say 5+ Stars!! and Outstanding!! with regards to this firm, and good luck to you should you be geographically assigned to this County and decide to seek counsel elsewhere.Additionally (if youre still reading), in an effort to truly review this firm and its practitioners I will, if not limited yet again by Google review constraints, provide specific insight and several analogies that may afford you with some information that will allow you to make an educated decision. (Looks like Google limits me yet again, so I will post the rest separately if possible as a follow up).

If I could give this firm 10 stars I would have. Tammy Smith has a SUPERIOR knowledge of Family Law. I cannot stress enough how confident we were going into court having her as our attorney. She made sure to be abreast of all information we gave her and used all of our updates we sent periodically over the months it took our case to be heard. The grasp she had on not only our specific case issues, but of the knowledge of Law itself was a stark difference between the opposing counsel. Having proper representation for our case was extremely important and we could not be more happy with choosing such an impressive attorney. We briefly spoke with Marshall Miller initially who transferred us to Tammy due to the nature of our case, and he too was amazing and knowledgeable. It is unfortunate that circumstances lead our family to court for a custody hearing but with the help of Tammy Smith our outcome was absolutely positive and in the best interest of my boyfriends daughter. Tammy Smith is an extremely intelligent woman who was excellent with presenting a strong factual case that focused on what was in the best interest of a child. She not only made it seem as though it was personal for her, she presented and gathered her information prior to her presenting to the judge. She's good! She knows what needs to be heard and not heard. She is passionate and it is displayed in her arguments and she advocates for the fathers in this world that often do all the work behind the scenes but get penalized in the eye of the public. It goes without saying that Tammy is representing her clients as if it was her own family. She follows up and checks on her clients on off hours and truly cares about her profession and those she comes in contact with. The one thing you will feel while going through custody situations is the waiting game. Be patient and I assure you Tammy and the Law Firm will contact you immediately when they have information or documents for you. Remember you are getting charged for all they do and they do not waste time or money unless it is extremely important or you have a ruling and an order. Tammy always contacted us and updated us when she received the information. Their are also a lot of red tape that civilians do not know about that may delay the process. Be patient and I assure you that you will be the first to know any new rulings or developments. Thank you again Tammy for representing our family and helping improve the life of a child. I first used Tammy Smith last year for a case with my Fiance's Ex who was stalking me. She was EXTREMELY helpful in every way. She made me feel like it was just as personal to her as it was to me and she definitely handled my case in court with Professionalism and was aggressive when needed. First and foremost I cant say enough good things about Tammy. I was out of state on a assignment when I found out that my ex filed for my son to be adopted by her husband. She disappeared with him for two years at that point. I went to court not really having enough time to hire a attorney. I did talk to Tammy on the phone once before but didnt make final arrangements with her. Quickly I realize this wasnt something I could handle myself When i started to feeling anxiety rush over me in front of the Judge. Luckily she was in the court room. The judge asked me if I would like a chance to get a attorney instead of moving forward, I didnt even noticed Tammy behind me when she spoke up and told him that we started to talk but havent had the opportunity to finish up. She expressed that the court didnt give me enough time to get across country and set up anything. They continued my case and I hired her on the spot. She won that case for me and is currently trying to help me fight so I can see my son again.... this has been the hardest thing I have dealt with as a man, being a father that isnt in my sons life. I thought I might have lost him forever when my ex disappeared and wouldnt answer me back. Tammy has given me hope and even though I live in another state. She always makes time to talk even when its in the evening knowing she would rather be with her own family.

Excellent in every way!! I had a very serious charge in Harnett County and I had no idea what to do. I had a paralegal friend who recommended Marshall. As soon as Marshall was told of what happened, he came straight to the jail and talked to me about exactly what he's going to do, and how he's going to do it. I have worked with Marshall Miller and Tammy Smith since the spring of 2015. Over the course of our time together, Marshall and Tammy both tenaciously fought on my behalf. The custody agreement involved my 2 children, one of whom has severe special needs. Tammy Smith was truly intent on understanding what my special needs child's life is like day to day, as well as my long term goals for her. In order to do this, she had to grasp complex medical diagnoses, treatments and protocols. Tammy also had to understand special education from a Federal standpoint, as well as from state to state. A special needs child is like an individual fingerprint, each is unique and complex in their needs and strengths. Tammy endeavored not only to understand that uniqueness, but to grasp it so firmly that she could advocate on my child's behalf in legal proceedings. This is a talent which few possess, and I am beyond grateful to have such an adept person handling my case. She did this not only for my special needs child, but for my neuro-typical child, as well. Often child custody that includes a special needs child can overlook the needs of a neuro-typical child. Tammy made certain that my son's needs were addressed equally to his sister's in our custody agreement. Representing my children and me was not just a job to her. Tammy has fought tirelessly for us, and in all ways went above and beyond. In my experience, Marshall and Tammy take their callings as attorneys personally, and strive to bring assurance and calm during such an emotionally stressful time. I felt heard in my desired outcomes, and they were steadfast in their efforts to make those outcomes happen. BEWARE!!! BEWARE!! BEWARE!!! This law firm should not be in practice. In October 2016 I hired Tammy Smith to file divorce documents for me because I was on a temporary assignment, out of state, and didnt want to wait until I returned to file myself. Tammy Smith took my payment and immediately dropped all contact with me. She did not file, she did not respond to my calls, emails, or written request to refund my payment. After 4 months of no response I filed a grievance with the state bar. To this date, still no contact or refund from her. BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!! BEWARE!!!After posting the review above, there was an immediate response: Response from the owner 2 hours agoI have handled thousands of matters for clients over my career. Everyone of my client have my cell phone number and I try to be diligent in responding to everyone. I am not a perfect person. I feel it is unfortunate that someone can leave a review without putting their name on it.. if there was a problem I would of welcome the opportunity of resolving the matter and making a client happy. I have received awards for client satisfaction.I want to add that initial contact with Tammy Smith was positive, however after the first three weeks of hiring her I did not receive any responses to my calls to her personal number, office number, or emails and my very simple request to file for divorce was not actioned on. I was patient and waited, but months later my continued calls were still not answered, voicemails not returned and emails were not replied to. If an attorney cannot, in 6 months time, file an action for you, should you hire them to do so?

Smith did nothing for our case. She did not sit down with my husband to see what he wanted out of trial. She did not use the books of info on the case that we tried to give her. She did not subpoena helpful people we told her about in the case. She took over two months to get the court order signed by the judge after trial. She ignores texts and calls. She stole our paperwork from the therapist office. She did not fight for us. We paid $3000 cash out of pocket right up front, and never seen her work for the case. I would NOT recommend anyone using her services. Her partner is the one who drew up the paperwork to take it to court initially. The only thing she did was show up for court. If your children's lives are hanging on the balance, do yourself a favor and select a different attorney. I wish I would have had a warning, so here is your warning guys!
