Terrible experience. A bunch of excuses why things cant happen. Will take your money and nickel and dime you for everything. Had the nerve to question me as if i didn't care about my children. If you want to wait for days on end for information. See your lawyer once and never again until court. Pay top dollar for mediocre service. This is your law firm. Beware if you retain her and get a case in Lee county because she doesn't practice there so you will have to get another lawyer.

Good afternoon. I have read a number of the other reviews here. Having gone through an ugly divorce and child custody issue myself, I understand that feelings are very raw when it initially happens. Mrs. Edwards and her staff were very helpful to me during my situation. What you need is someone who is versed in family law. Mrs. Edwards Law Firm is just that. My divorce and child custody took place back in 2006 through 2007. As with a number of people, I did not initially understand 'the law' in reference to how it functions... all I could think of at the time was how me and my daughters had been done morally wrong by my ex-spouse. Looking back at it now, Mrs. Edwards and her staff (especially April) did an incredible job allowing me to get primary custody of my daughters, stay in my current residence (also therefore helping me maintain my credit rating) , and saved me literally tons of money down the road. I think in reading some of the reviews here, folks get caught up in what their version of what is right. Mrs. Edwards is about doing right for her clients within the guidelines of the law. People are not happy when those two things are not the same. Mrs. Edwards and April will do their absolute best to make certain a fair out come takes place for her clients. You can ask for no more. My life has been definitely for the better thanks to the efforts of her law firm. I still refer to Mrs. Edwards and April when I have questions regarding legalities.P.S. - I got to raise my daughters in my home - priceless.Perry Joyner

sorry lawyer would not advise hiring her paid for divorce 2005 find out in 2019 my x spouce is still on property titles contacted charlene they blamed me said it was not in there pervue to fix titles had to hire a second lawyer to fix what they were payed to do

This the best law firm in Harnett county. Charlene and her entire team are professional, courteous and very good at what they do! Charlene represented me (a male) and I received custody of my children and my home. Some things to know up front:1. Your attorney is not your 'friend'. While everyone in her office is gracious, friendly, welcoming, and very professional, you must understand it is NOT their job to get emotionally involved in your life or your case.2. It will take time. Especially if you and your spouse can not agree on anything. My case was 2+ years, but we had 3 houses and a business.3. There is no such thing as a 'cheap' attorney. However I found Charlene's fees were reasonable, fair and well documented with absolutely no 'fluff' or exaggerated fees.

When my husband and I first sought an attorney for a child custody case three years ago, multiple people recommended Ms. Edwards to us. Our case was exceptionally complex and lengthy. Ms. Edwards and her staff always kept us to date. If we had questions, we could either phone or email and get a timely response. As far as her being impolite/rude that was written about in the previous review ... she is direct and staight forward. I think often times, people confuse candor with being rude/impolite. No, she is not going to cradle you in her lap if you break down in tears. She's going to tell you what needs to be done and how it will be done. We didn't need to be coddled, we needed an experienced, well-versed attorney; that's exactly what we got. We are forever indebted to Ms. Edwards and her staff. Thank you so much for your persistence and professionalism.

My previous review is below and Im not deleting it. I want everyone to see how I and my son (a US Army soldier for 11 yrs) were taken in by this office. We received excuse after excuse, for over a year on why they could not obtain a court date...all the while taking over $3,000 from a US soldier that was only trying to get visitation of his children. Final outcome? A complaint to the NC Bar Association, US Congressional Rep for NC and BBB. Oh and we have, in hand, a email from this lawyer and paralegal stating their clients should be slapped.Charlene and her office staff, especially April, have assisted my family over the years with legal aid. The are extremely knowledgeable, professional, helpful and friendly. They have dealt with many different legal situations so they can help you find a solution quickly and efficiently. I would recommend that anyone that is needing legal advice contact Charlene.

MS. Edwards is unprofessional and buased. Seems as if she speaks assertive at intial consultation to lock you in on a retainer, then once she has the money just goes through the motions and will make no effort to represent you. If you like spending unnessary money this is the attorney for you.

This firm has proven what not to look for in family law. How the attorney has been able to stay in business this long or even practice law is beyond my family and me. During first meeting basically told me this custody issue would take only two hours at trial. Well have not been to trail yet this has been since Oct. 2016. Also gave more money to file another motion and I had to beg for it to get done. I was going in a different direction if the second mount had not been filed. From my email to them they got it. They filed and have continued to stall. I wish I could tell my entire story. As in anything buyer beware. Especially when your kid(s) are at stake. Very impolite as well. Please check on the other atteorneys in Harnet, Lee, and Johnston if you need family law attorney. Buyer beware!! You and your kids deserve the best and it ain't this place. This has put me further behind.
