Divorce is one of the most stressful times in a person's life. As such, one of the most important decisions is proper legal representation. A good attorney allows a client to tell his or her story to the court in a manner that has their best interest in mind. Marsha Kennedy at Kennedy Law helped me tell my story in that way. One of my biggest concerns during my divorce was having adequate time with my children. Marsha represented me as a parent (not as either a father or a mother). She did an amazing job of protecting my rights as a parent in a fair and equitable manner. Usually, a client can feel slighted or ignored due to a number of factors. However, Marsha put forth the effort to insure that a different set of rules were not applied to me. My best interests were truly protected. In terms of marital assets, Marsha took the proper time and effort to determine the value of property and the correct valuation of assets. And, the distribution of property was reasonable. The effort, professionalism, care, and attention to detail was evident by Marsha and her staff. I was made aware of any changes to court dates or circumstances immediately. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Kennedy Law Firm! Let me give you a little background about how I found this amazing law firm and how much I wish I had known about them a year earlier! Early in 2018, I needed an attorney, after my former fianc unexpectedly ended our engagement, literally months after we moved into the house we built/purchased together. I felt like a deer in headlights, because I had never had to hire an attorney before, and I had absolutely no knowledge about who to hire. I needed someone to represent my interest in settling the property that was purchased jointly. Unfortunately I hired another firm I found through a Google search in Uptown Charlotte. Nine months later, I was still no closer to having any resolution. My original attorney was not responsive, to me nor to opposing counsel. I even thought that if I prepaid him, he would be more readily accessible. Boy was I wrong! This made absolutely no difference, he was still rarely available! I was told by several friends, who had used attorneys in the past, that this is just the way attorneys work, and I would have to stay on him. Im not a person who wants to be one of those people, so I simply accepted the fact that I had hired an attorney that was going to have to be replaced!While traveling abroad in the late fall, as luck would have it, I met an attorney from Charlotte, who has just relocated. I told him the issues I was having with the first attorney that I hired and asked him who the best attorney in Charlotte was. He immediately gave me Marsha Kennedys name, and the minute I got home, I called Kennedy Law Firm to schedule an appointment with Marsha. From the first time I called the office, I felt like my whole experience was entirely different. Brandon answered the phone, and I distinctly made a note of his name because of how professional, and friendly he was. I also really appreciated him assuring me that Marsha was a great choice for my particular needs. He told me before we ended the conversation that he would send a follow up email regarding our conversation, which included all the details about my upcoming appointment. This was wonderful to have a reminder to add it to my calendar at work! I met with Marsha on January 4th, 2019, and was immediately impressed by the level of compassion and concern she had for what I was going through, and also for making sure she would protect my rights. I knew when I walked out of her office, that I had found the perfect attorney!! Margaret Thatcher once said, If you want something said, ask a man; if you want something done, ask a woman. This quote is perfect, because in my situation, everything was completely resolved in less than a month! A week after my initial consultation with Marsha, I was back in her office signing a property settlement, and literally two weeks after that, I had movers taking my belongings to my new home. It is absolutely astounding to me how having a top notch, brilliant, responsive attorney, along with her incredible associate attorney Sarah made ALL THE DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD!! The level of service I received from everyone I came in contact with at Kennedy Law Firm made me feel as though I was their number one priority! I can assure anyone who needs an attorney, Marsha is at the top of her game, and one that you definitely want ON YOUR SIDE!! She will be your strongest and smartest ally!

Terrible experience. Beware of Kennedy Law Associates. They will tell you that they use a team based approach but in reality they use fresh out of school attorneys. Because of their inexperience, they will file incorrect paperwork and put you in a bigger financial burden to pay for their errors. They have ruined my life.

I wouldn't give this place even 1 star but I had to in order to leave a rating. We worked with Kaylan (or her voicemail to be honest) she never returned our calls, she advised us to do something that ultimately caused us to lose our case and didn't take responsibility. She was a complete ditz in court, every single document she brought was 'hear say' ... You would think an attorney would have knowledge of this. She studdered the entire court hearing and said 'um' at least 10 times and her assistant not only showed up 5 minutes late to the court room but also brought a bright purple michael kors bag that could fit a small animal in it... To say we were trapped in a scene from 'legally blonde' is an understatement. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. I think I knew more about court just from watching tv and movies than this idiot. Save your money.
