Law Office of Dorothy Ferguson

Paid her 1500 and got one in person with one court appearance where she was like let's just make a deal. Told her we were switching attorneys and wanted a to know what was charged and what was left over. We never got a reply after her assurances she would take care of it.Maybe she has helped some folks but she did not help us any. We have reached out so many times with no reply. I could go on and on about her previous incompetent staff who gets all the blame. They are an easy scapegoat but it is her show, so she is responsible. We are going to file a complaint with the Bar association and whoever else we can. There is no way that one appearance and 30 min visit is 1500.

If I ran my business the way she does I wouldn't have a business. We used her for a will and grandparent visitation. Once she was paid she disappeared. She got caught in a lie with the judge and watching her present our case was painful. We wasted a lot of money on her. I thought she was lazy and unprepared.

Would give 0 but cant. Office RARELY answers any phone call. No emails or voicemails get returned EVER. Staff is slow and gives attitude for no reason. After getting your money she disappears. I saw her 3 TIMES over a 3 month period, once was when I went to her for help to take my case and then 2 times after that and after a month of her not taking my phone calls or answering back anything. I had to WAIT FOR HER TO SHOW UP TO HER OWN BUSINESS so not only does she come in when she wants to, but she also comes in looking so unprofessional, both times I had to track her down by waiting outside for her to drive up to her building hours later. She was in lazy home clothes and clearly didnt want to be bothered by me as she kept trying to walk away into the building! I found out that she wasnt doing anything with my case after the defendants attorney, which he hired from somewhere in Indianapolis, had told me that he has not been able to contact Dorthy and that he had NOT been contacted via email or phone call by Dorthy either DESPITE her tell me that she called and got no answer from HIM. The defendants attorney gave me much more attention and updates about court dates and what he was going to send me, cutting Dorthy out of the equation entirely. I now have to finish paying this incompetent Boomer and go on with the deal I and the defendant and his attorney have made. Dont waste your time coming to her for your needs I highly recommend you get yourself a real attorney from elsewhere the only reason we came to her was because she was local and I love supporting local businesses, but clearly it was a bad idea to give my business to HER!

If i could put negative stars on here I would. She screwed my husband over. We paid her almost 2000 and only saw her once. We ended up dropping our case a couple of months later and she tried to to tell us we didn't get our retainer back and tried to write us a check for 60$. Seriously our retainer that you're not to touch until after our court hearing and we only seen you for a consultation which was 200. And you want t to give us 60$ back. Also she's not even a part of the Indiana Bar Association so we can't do anything to get our money back. No one will take our case.

Dorothy was great. She helped my family and worked with us on payments. I have read some of these reviews and it sounds like people wanted something for nothing or are mad that she beat them. I know Dorothy have 110% for us and will do the same for you.

I have never been there maybe drove by it. Have no idea why my phone is asking me to rate it.

0 Star- if I could. Horrible experience. Her office never returns calls, emails, letters. She over charged me, gave me false hope and lied to me. I trusted her, at first. Now she owes me court-ordered money and wont return calls or emails or even give me receipts or statements. Now I have to hire another attorney to go after her. Im also reporting her to Indiana State Bar.

Ms. Ferguson's legal services are by far the best financial investment I've made in years. We sat down, talked about our case, made a plan and executed that plan. While most things in the legal system take time, we won our case as quickly as we could. Dorothy was always there to answer my questions and never steered me wrong. I couldn't be happier with her services.

Want a aggressive and an attorney who gets it done hire Dorothy. She was beast in the court room! Want a soft ... Attorney who just talks game hire D.W. of Anderson! Dorothy put the others in their place and my experience with her was top notch! However it is difficult to get her on the phone! Best to make appointments anytime you want to speak with her!

Only giving one star because 0 is not an option. She avoided me in office and ignored my phone calls. She was lazy in filing any and all paperwork. The only reason my case went through was because the defendants attorney pushed the paperwork through the court system. I am completely disappointed with the service i was provided. I will not/ would not recommend using jet for any reason.

Dorothy is a wonderful attorney who will fight for your rights. Thanks to Dorothy my husband was able to remove his children from a toxic environment. I would highly recommend her for any of your family law needs.

Had a state worker show up today, I said I had no comment speak to my attorney. She said who's your attorney I said 'DOROTHY FERGUSON' she said 'LET'S GO THIS IS POINTLESS EVERYONE IN ANDERSON COURTS ARE SCARED OF DOROTHY.' Those were Her exact words I have it on recording. I didn't have to say anything but Dorothys name. She's an amazing attorney thank you Dorothy your making a GREAT NAME FOR YOURSELF IN MADISON COUNTY.

Watching this woman in court is absolutely painful. She's unprepared and lacks the wit of a true attorney. It's impossible to determine which party she is representing. Her staff is as equally unintelligent as her, and you should know that your calls and emails will not be returned. Despite the fact that it is a lawyer's ethical and legal obligation to protect client information, private divorce details were sent to the incorrect client on at least three occasions. This is information I accumulated when speaking with only one of Dorothy's clients; therefore, this could be a reoccurring and appalling business practice. She treats the hearing as an initial interview with her client, and clearly does not understand her client's circumstances. Again, it cannot be reiterated enough - she is severely unprepared! The client brought multiple pieces of evidence, none of which were used. In consequence, her client ended up with 75% of the divorce debt and lost all requests for the custody battle. Her advertisements as a mother and caring social worker are a sham. She reminded me of a walking zombie, blissfully unaware of her occupation and the families she is blatently not representing. In words, I cannot describe my dismay and disgust that a woman of her pitiful demeanor is working in a field far above her intelligence level.

Dorothy should have 5stars from everybody on here..she gets the job done and try her hardest to fight for you! I wouldnt trade her for no other attorney in the world..thank you Dorothy for helping me and being very patient with my payments and my attitude wouldnt have gotten half of my rights as a father to see my kids and I know I have a long road ahead with my situation but thats why I choose you because ur one heck of a fighter and you just never give up because theres no such thing as a loss in ur book

Not recommended if you want to get anything done with any amount of speed, changes office staff every couple of months and wasn't prepared for court on my case. Gave me wrong court date and had no paperwork ready for judge to sign. Had to go to the courthouse and check to see where my case was and why didn't have adoption papers submitted and signed by judge. Would have given no stars but wasn't a option.

Just bcuz she used to work for DCS nd now she has her own office does not mean she is a good Attorney. After ur consultation nd u pay her she stops answering texts messages phone calls nd any communication untell right b4 court but then its too late cuz DCS already has there case built up against u so wen u go to court theres no chance of winning against them. i jus lost my kids too the state. im devasted. Nd if she dont want to go too ur Monthly meeting she well tell u shes buzy nd cant go. She does not fight for u

tells you she'll help you and makes you do the work, she wouldn't call any of my case workers, anytime I needed to know something I had to call several times, her office doesn't return phone calls I always had to call and just an all around horrible experience, feel like I wasted my money here cause nothin got done, I'm still in my same situation, maybe someone else might have a better experience but for me it was a horrible one

Be sure you are attending to mediation with someone not looking at our best interest, not prepared, not well documented on your case, and making you sign an agreement totally against you. I feel so sorry to have chosen her to represent my father (a veteran, with many health problems, depression, and starting to suffer dementia). during the first calls, they tell you all you want to hear, but when action is needed, facing the counterpart, the lack of preparation was evident and my father ended up signing a mediation agreement he didn't understand and we had to ask another attorney to help us.
