I recommend North Shore Mediation. Lisa is an attorney-mediator, so she has qualifications and experience that non-attorney mediators do not have. It is an odd thing to leave a great review for a Divorce Mediator, but Lisa Wiemken warrants no less. To me, the fact that my marriage was coming to an end came as a horrible surprise, and I was totally unprepared for the barrage of things that need to be taken care of in order to unwind a long standing marriage. While the process has been painful, I can honestly say that I am overjoyed to have discovered the mediation process, which saves a great deal of money and acrimony, and to have found North Shore Divorce Mediation to guide my ex and I through the process. Lisa doesn't just work with the legalities of the situation, but she attends closely to the emotional and psychological health of the parties involved. She provides referrals to outside services that you, as a divorcing person, may not even know that you need yet. Many people are unaware that there is an alternative to a long, drawn out, expensive divorce process, where the only people who benefit are the divorce attorneys. Lisa Wiemken is an advocate for the mediation process, and she makes it easy, even in trying times. While I am not happy about the end of my marriage, I am very much grateful for and proud of the settlement that my ex and I were able to reach by working together with Lisa guiding us. We came to an agreement that preserved as much of our wealth as possible and that we both feel comfortable with. If you are reading this, the tough times are already on their way. Even though Lisa was quite friendly, we did not have a good experience with her unfortunately.She was disorganized, got appointment dates wrong and was generally not that helpful and seemed to lack knowledge in a few areas. She did ultimately provide us with a MOU, but it was a pretty messy process.Thankfully my ex and I are on good terms, I can't imagine how it would work out if that were not the case.She can certainly get the job done and was courteous (and affordable), but I am pretty sure that there are better attorneys out there.
