If you gotta go down, Key West is the place to do it. Air conditioned post cars, clean cells, spotless stainless steel benches.....dinner had it's limitations, however (steamed carrots, watery beans and whitebread). Of course you're gonna need a lawyer and Alan Fowler and his crew took us under their wings the very next day. Through the whole case I was the one who had to call and get updates, never receiving any word on my case or new developments. I would strongly recommend you avoid Alan Fowler and his practice unless you want to be over charged by $2,000 dollars. Now I will dispute the charges.

Good attorney I'll give him that, he's a General when it comes to getting charges dropped lower. But he's way overpriced, 10k for VOP and sales charge. You could get another Ge neral for half or even a quarter of that price, $2500 to $5k. He and his office were awful communicators especially when you're locked up. If you're seeking legal representation for someone who's actively incarcerated DO NOT hire him. Honestly there are other well known lawyers who are straight beasts in the court room who charge, like I said, a quarter or half of what he charges. He's nice guy but you should only hire him if you're looking at doing at least a 5 year bid in state prison.He's used to taking offenders who are out on bond and have a lot of money to blow. If you are both of those go ahead and retain his services, otherwise, in the keys there are at least a handful of other lawyers I've seen in action do the same or better job for less money.

In my mind, Alan Fowler is the best criminal defense lawyer in Key West.He helped me feel at ease during a stressful time at the Monroe County detention center.He also is excellent at letting you know what to expect when making your plea in court, which can be stressful and rather intimidating.I will be utilizing his services again when putting in the request for my probation to be decreased by one year for good behavior. I would not seek his (and his staff's) expertise again unless I were fully satisfied with the work he has done for me. And I am indeed fully satisfied as a client of his legal team (staff).
