I was in a desperate situation fighting a complicated civil litigation against me in Colorado federal court. Because my original attorney was ineffective to say the least, I spent quite a bit of time trying to represent myself. When I came into Griffiths Law PC 6 months ago, I was in a very fragile state, about to make the decision to file for divorce from my wife. Making the decision that much more difficult was the fact that my wife and I had two small children, and a pending house sale in the mix.Upon walking into the office, the first thing that I noticed was that Veronique at the front desk was very polite and attentive to my needs. Every visit thereafter, she remembered my name and kindly greeted me. That meant a lot. The office was also very clean and professional looking, something that I appreciated. My experience was mixed. I felt that I was represented well early on, but near the end I feel that I got screwed. Basically, the settlement language dictated that my ex and I split the contents of the bank account on the last day of the month (when my paycheck goes in; so she got half), but then the next day I had to pay the monthly maintenance (pretty much the other half of my paycheck). So I was left with nothing. While I should have caught this in the agreement, so should my lawyer.
