We had a beautiful time at this park. We stayed in the north for 3 days. Just us and the animals! South, camping choices are bad. Went on the drives and hikes; really cool place. I'd go back to the north end!

Beautiful scenery! Great bus tours. The driver will stop if you see wildlife. You will see wildlife easier than the top of the mountain!

The best views of surrounding mountains and glaciers. Information Center provides wide variety of background on history of the area.

If you're driving along the Richardson Hwy, it's well worth it to pull in here. There are large clean restrooms, free WiFi and a lot to see and learn. The visitor center has a lot of artifacts and exhibits on display, there's another building with diorama's and stuffed wild life. The movie theater has an interesting film on this national park, which is the largest in the USA. There's plenty of parking for cars and RV's and it's all at no charge.

Although we visited on an off season Sunday and most buildings were closed, we enjoyed what we did see very much. Nice staff and very clean and well maintained. Lots of good info on the park! Definitely worth the stop.

This park is awesome for kids of all ages. We had our grandkids there ages 2-4 and they loved all the exhibits. They were able to interact as well as watch an informative movie on Alaska the Last Frontier. It was great.

The visitor center is very far (~3 hours) from the national park, however you get beautiful views of the Wrangell Mountains. The staff was very friendly and energetic, cheerfully explaining the geographical features :)

Wow, it's a younger newer park, just revealed after Glaciers resended the area and has been found to be one of the worlds largest

A well-maintained site. I was a little disappointed that the accessible trail was closed, but perhaps it will be ready in the next few weeks for traffic.

It is the biggest national park in USA, 4 times of Yellowstone. But normally people just visit very small part of the park. Better to come in summer. In winter this national park is closed. The great view can only be reached by driving 100 miles deep into the park. The visit center is a boring place but is the easiest point to reach. The road is mostly unpaved, only the first 30 miles paved.

If you like school buses and huge crowds go to Denali - if you want wildlife, wilderness and spectacular scenery - go here to America's biggest National Park - harder to figure you way around - stop at the visitor center and ask - then have an amazing experience!

My experience? Former NPS employee and property inholder during a period of local hire preference. As in other cliquish places, you'll get to know almost everyone and become something like family, inclined to help one another. For locals, one of the fascinations are to live completely off grid due to a lack of utilities, to build your own shack or mansion far away from any city or governing agency. And this in setting nearly impossible to match. 16000-foot peaks, glacial valleys, cold streams, remote lakes and few people. Unless it's Summer when visitors flock in, fly to even more remote destinations or walk among historic mining town relics. In spite of its far away setting, excellent food awaits, bag lunches are available as are guide services to make a stroll on a glacier a safe and enjoyable experience. Here even your dog is welcome, and if peaceful, may be allowed in the one bar. Weekly open mic and annual tall tail events happen as do softball games you can join. Chances are you'll see a friendly Bear, feeding on Soap Berries or a rare Moose. In a park larger than Switzerland with only two roads you can still feel like a pioneer. Definitely worth your visit.

It's a nice visitor center. We stopped in in October, only the main building was open. The ranger lady was polite but not very helpful. She insisted that the road to McCarthy was dangerous. 'The season was over so nothing was open. People get multiple flat tires'. But we went anyway and found a cabin to rent as we were driving through chitina. The road was in great shape for a gravel road. So basically her over cautious advise was really inaccurate.
