Salmon Grove Campground & Fishing Charters

We love this place! Has everything we need and a friendly and helpful staff. Dan and Stephanie are just awesome! Met many great folks here and fished an incredible king run. We caught sockeye right at camp and stayed three days in our RV right on the river! We really liked the tackle shop and all the help getting rigged up right with our rods. We will be back!!

The river was super high and muddy which made fishing conditions rough. Our guide Charles did a great job showing my wife, two daughters and I the ropes. He was very helpful

I love it here. Way laid back and everyone is friendly. Fishing for sockeye right off the bank can be very good when they are running. Excellent guides that make you feel right ar home. Conditions are better than they used to be in the campground with new showers and bathroom and a laundry room is being built. Fish cleaning station is handy. Remember, this is a fish camp and might not have everything a large rv park would have. Steve /Boise id.

Had a great time, even as bloody amateur when it comes to fishing. They know the river and spots and a lot more about the area. Can totally recommend getting on a trip with them!

Just check out this campgrounds electrictricy before paying your money. Only electricy here. Paid for two nights only to find out had to rig electricity to get it to work. When asked for refund, drunk attendant said What the hell! and said she did not know how to give one. Said to call back tomorrow. Called back three times. Called again. Got Stephanie on phone and said no refund on campground. Had to tell her would stop payment on credit card because had just paid for two nights. She agreed then to refund a portion. Went back later on in day to get cash refund. Man inside said, get your money and get out of here ! Drunk lady rushed up and said get out! Was never rude to them in return. Just be very aware and check out real good before giving them any money or your credit card. That was our mistake! Pics of campground they are showing are very misleading! Pics do NOT look like this campground. This place is very unkempt! Just a dirty run down fish camp with a few electric hookups that mostly you have to rig to get to work!

Found this campground quite by accident while returning from a trip to McCarthy, AK which is inside Wrangle Saint Elias National Park. The Salmon Grove Campground was very busy with lots of folks fishing right in the campground on the bank of the Copper River. An RVer had just left and the camp host parked us immediately and ran a 15 amp power cord out to keep our batteries charged. Campsite registration was minimal...wrote our names down in a ledger book and told us to pay when we got ready to leave. If you anted to buy something...write it down in the ledger book...strictly honor system. We met three dentist from Anchorage who were out for the week on a fishing vacation and the rest is history...we had a great time...caught some wonderful salmon and drank some martinis...YAHOO! Hope to go back some day but it's a long drive from southwest Florida. This place isn't Club Med - it's the real Alaskan fish camp and it's wonderful!

Great location! Good fishing right from the camp

We camped next to the river which was flowing way too high to fish in. We had to pay for showers. The campground owners dog was running around the camp with them off leash but I was not allowed to keep my animals off leash so just be forewarned. The staff was ok.
