Friendly owners and a comfortable area.. makes the perfect base of operation for a trip to Valdez for halibut then a run to Chitna for dipping reds. Can get all your fish processed in town or do them yourself and relax and flip for reds with a freezer or cooler full of fish.

This is one of the best charters on the river. They know all of the in's and out's of the river and they know how to fish. If the fish are there they will get you into the fish.

We have been to Klutina Salmon Charters 3 times now. The owners, Glenn and Jay, are great. You won't find better hosts. They go out of their way to make sure you have the best fishing experience on the Klutina and Gulkana Rivers. You can do 1/2 or full day charters for reds or kings with one of their experienced and knowledgeable guides or fish for those famous Copper River reds right from the bank in the campground. Only folks staying in the campground can do that so it is not crowded - totally unlike that crazy combat fishing on the Kenai. I caught my first king on the upper Klutina with guide, Andrew. They have cabins as well plus ice cream socials, potlucks and large campfires. They will even set you up with a rod if you don't have one with you! There is a fish processing facility right around the corner where you can get your fish vacuum packed, frozen and shipped if you like.We met some wonderful people there from Alaska and the Lower 48, some of whom will be lifelong friends. Try it out - you'll go back!

Stayed at the campground and fished Kings with Glenn. Started slow but we finally got into them and all limited out. Beautiful scenery, good fishing, and had a great time out on the river!

I highly recommend Klutina Salmon Charters. Our group did the King Salmon rafting and fishing trip. My wife caught a beautiful King Salmon. We ate some of the fish that night at their campgrounds. We rented a solo cabin, very nice. The cabin sleeps four, has a refrigerator, table, etc. The staff is very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. Glenn took excellent care of us. Going down the river, our guide was Jake. Jake was very informative, friendly and he was excellent at maneuvering the raft. At the end of our rafting adventure, Jake filleted our King Salmon with expert precision. If you get the opportunity to raft and fish the Klutina river, I highly recommend Klutina Salmon Charters & Campground.

We enjoyed both the campground and fishing. Glenn, one of the owners was very accommodating and helpful. Loved the Tuesday night ice cream get together around the campfire. Andrew, our king salmon guide, was great considering we had never fished for kings before. He netted Cindys (my wife) 25 lb king. Could not have had a better experience. Highly recommend Klutina Salmon Charters and Campground!

One of the highlights of our time in Alaska this summer. We spent three nights at Klutina Salmon Charters. The first night, Glen (super friendly owner!) invited us out for an ice cream social to meet our fishing partners for our king salmon fishing charter the next day.The next day was our all day king salmon fishing charter + 14 mile float down the beautiful Klutina River. Jake, our guide, was patient and a fantastic teacher for first time king salmon fishers like ourselves. He took us to many beautiful spots along the river and by the end of it, I think we were able to hold our own on figuring out the best seam to cast into and how to read the river. Our partners each caught a king but unfortunately we came home empty-handed. Nevertheless, we learned so much about river fishing that we were able to apply the next day and that day still holds up as one of the best days we had in our six weeks in Alaska. The next and final day we fished for reds along the river right at the campground! What a chill way to spend your day. We rented a pole from the campground and being total fishing n00bs got a lot of help from the other locals fishing and especially Iggy, one of the staff at the campground. Again, we learned so much about river fishing thanks to KSC and even caught three reds in our time there. After a day at KSC, I'm pretty confident I could walk into a fishing store, buy the equipment I needed, rig my pole, and go catch dinner. If you come here you'll get a relaxed environment, super friendly owner and staff, and the fish are there for the catching. The campground also seems to attract quite a few local Alaskans who are all really friendly.

I love the crew at Klutina Salmon Charters! Brought some of my seasonal worker friends here for the first time and they had an absolute blast. They said it was 'Hands down, the coolest thing they have done all summer.' Guides Kevin and Jake were super patient and knowledgeable on the river, the fishing, and the area. Outstanding customer service! This place is an absolute gem!

OK, I'm now going to try and convince you to go salmon fishing with Klutina Salmon Charters. Jay and Glenn, the brothers / owners, are unbelievably friendly and enthusiastic - these guys LOVE to fish. And their infectious excitement sold me to go out on a full day float of the Klutina, which involved a 5:15am wakeup and then turned into 11 hours of fishing, and for someone who really likes but perhaps does not love to fish, as I do, was really an act of invested belief in their forthrightness and cheer and it was so absolutely worth doing I can't believe I almost missed the opportunity. Our guide was Kevin - talented fisherman, great boat guide and all-around super fun guy to spend a day on the river with. And we're bringing home 10+ lbs of fresh King salmon with good color and a great story attached to it. So in short, these guys are fun, friendly, professional, laid-back, and worth every one of your salmon-fishing dollars. Friends don't let friends fish the Kenai. They float the Klutina instead.

Looks like a winner from here. My native pals are hankering for salmon which is unobtainable here in Alabama.

The camp ground is a no frills campground. Its location is great. The opportunity to catch sockeye off the bank is great if you happen to be there during the peak run. The staff os friendly. The charter guides are super helpful and know where the big king's are at. They had a success rate of 100% on king's while I was there. They only reason I'm not giving them 5 stars is because they do not have a bath house to clean up. If you have an RV you will be ok, electric and water are available. Also the outhouse did not have a hand wash station to use after using the facilities. Nothing most people cant overcome. All on all great place for a great price. Go around fathers day weekend for the sockeye run. Come later in july, early aug for big kings. Good luck.
