She was very reassuring during a so-called free consultation, that I hired her immediately. Everything she said during the consultation ended up to be false. All she did for me was file a notice of appearance and never had time to meet or go over my case file. When we were only a couple days away from the next court date she claimed 'My niece has been in a terrible accident and hanging on to life by threads. I will be back in touch with you before end of week.' That was the kinda responses I got for every email I sent. She never got back to me or had time for my case. After several phone calls to her office, where you cannot get a live person to answer. I finally got a phone call back which I did record. I asked for an itemized statement which she claimed she doesn't give those. I asked it I could speak with the legal assistant working on my case she claimed she doesn't have those. I asked how much I had left in my retainer so I would have proof, since I didn't trust her at all at this point. She wouldn't give me a number but claimed I had plenty left that she doesn't charge much for anything. After I fired her she sent an itemized statement claiming I only had a couple hundred left and it would be mailed to me. I have filed a BBB complaint and a dispute with credit card company. I have not received anything from her and this was months ago. Do not hire this lawyer. This has got to be fraud. $3500 for a notice of appearance.

I hired Lana Hawkins for a modification of custody case. She was and continues to be a diligent listener- as well as easy to get it touch with, which is a rarity with lawyers. This helps ease my anxieties about such important life decisions for myself and my child. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to be understood and well represented in court.

She was affordable in comparison, a good listener, and empathetic. However, I felt she was never prepared. It seemed everything was completed in the last minute and rushed. Although the outcome in my case could have been more tied to bias of the court than the representation. I could not recommend using this attorney even with her lower prices. If you do make that mistake then get a written contract.

She was not very helpful she didnt show up to court at least three times she didnt fight for us she wouldnt even send me an item my statement she was useless
