Please do yourself a favor and seek out other options before hiring this law firm. The phone consult fee that they wanted to charge me was $293/hr. When I heard this, I then pressed about what the typical retainer was, and Lori told me that it would be $6000. Again, this is before their attorneys heard any details about my situation. The majority of the firms that I have contacted offered to do a free consult based on the same details that I provided them with. Don't get ripped off - do your homework.

I found myself in a situation needing to hire an attorney that could help me In a tight turnaround time frame. I needed to deal with a situation with a neighbor. I called Berner Law Group on a Wednesday afternoon and was able to get in to see Jack on that Friday. Jack never made us feel rushed and was very upfront on the pros and cons of each situation. Jack and his office staff also took our thoughts and wishes and truly made us feel validated and listened too. Family Law is a daunting field to contemplate from a disinterested perspective, and the vast array of counter-intuitive and complex rules and standards of procedure quickly turn to the terrifying for the unfortunate citizen who is personally involved in their outcome. It was in this unenviable position that I found myself not long ago, and I can frankly aver that the first call I made to Berner Law Group marked the most fortuitous turning point in my case that I could have wished for.I cannot stress enough that while standards for admittance to the bar in Washington may well be consistent, by no means is every family law attorney equal in skill or dedication. Let me leave it by saying that while this case was by no means inexpensive for me, I have found Berner Law Group's rates entirely fair given the amount and quality of work on their plate, and that while the adage that 'one gets what one pays for' holds truer in litigation than anywhere else, I have also seen less satisfactory work from more expensive attorneys. In short, I have come away from my case with the utmost gratitude and respect for this firm, the work they do and the dedicated staff which undertakes it.
