Edit: Funny how her office will allow family members to pay as well as attend meetings but feel they cant trust their opinions? I certainly have personal knowledge of our office or personal interaction with our office. But that is clever write off of my comment.They will take your retainer and then ignore you and never contact you again. My family paid 2500$ up front, thinking that would guarantee attention to our case. We have never been able to be in touch with even the paralegal again. She is the cheapest in town for a reason. Its a gimmick to get your money. They depend on the fact that low income people probably cant afford to sue over her and her teams malpractice.

Worst attorney ever took my money then lost all my files I brought in there funny how its always the paralegals that call you and you never meet with Laura carpenter she didnt do a thing for my case at all I dont recommend anyone use her all thats gonna happen is they will take your money then say you gotta pay more for this and pay more for this and nothing will ever happen no good not worth the consultation at all

I spent $3500 there to hire her for my kid and then she wrote one letter to us and kept all the money after my kid died in a car wreck. Neither she or her assistant would even respond to me once they had my money even though I sent them both several emails. They dont care about you Only your money. I do definitely agree with all the negative responses here. And I was a client, I have a court order with proof. So please response from owner do not reply because it is irrelevant when 90% of the reviews here are negative. Custody case where father was abusive alcoholic and never knew I had the option of requesting an alcohol test with in a 24 hour period til I spoke with a different lawyer after the fact. Very important info. Would have been nice to be aware of all my options. I requested the entire time to come to a compromise with out resorting to court but come to court date we never enter the court room and come to a mutual agreement. Why could that not have been accomplished in my hometown instead of paying $3000 more for her expenses to travel 5 hours away. Hmm. And to be also charged for returning their miscellaneous calls. Ended up seeing my daughter one weekend a month when my record and background was clean and his was obviously not. Point to be taken do your research and don't trust so easily. And not very professional to bad mouth clients for their choice of men. I do remember that . Thanks.

This woman is definitely all about money. I dont see how she sleeps at night! I havent used her personally but my ex did & she helped him ruin my whole life! Because of her, I lost my only child to a lying, cheating, sorry excuse of a human being. I no longer have or get to see my daughter & my daughter is MILES away growing up without a mother & being raised by that POS all thanks to this wonderful lady. Give her enough money & she will serve the bad person against the good person..

Laura Carpenter is very unprofessional, she showed up in court with her i-phone and i-pad and that was it. Everything that i told her my ex was doing to me and my kids the pictures and text messages i showed her, she told me it didn't matter and that he was 'just harassing you' and that none of that mattered. When she is in court all she does is run back in forth in the hallways and will try to talk you into agreeing to something you don't want. DO NOT! I REPEAT DO NOT HIRE HER!!!

I think its pathetic that people whine on here saying what a terrible lawyer she is...well i hired her and i dont see what all the whining is about...we havnt went to court yet and so far im pretty satisfied..i think her office has really good communication and are pretty quick with getting back to you..laura will even email you after hours and weekends..she even email me back on sundays..and all she cares about is money? Well i dont see a big bill showing she has screwed me over and i think its reasonable for what all they have done so far...i think shes an awesome lady and if you think your whining worries me? OMG. Stay away and go hire a real attorney!!! She took my money and never represented me and didn't care. There is a reason she has to post her picture everywhere for business. I took her to court but after a year she sent an attorney instead of showing up in court herself. If she response like I have read on other reviews saying 'The law office of Laura Carpenter never represented me.' She is right...she didn't...she just took my money!

We hired this firm to file for child support and joint custody, actually we though one of her paralegals was a lawyer since thats how he presented himself. After 7-8 months, nothing was in place, still no child support. Gave $2600 up front and was told that would cover all expenses. Billing statements showed only $1800 was used from our account per their online account they had for us. Then they say they need $1500 more because the account has insufficient funds. Then suddenly when we ask about the account they cancelled the online account for us, wont return our calls and apparently dropped the case. Waste of money and time. Based off prior reviews this is common with this law office. And before this office replies that they didnt represent me, youre right I paid you to represent my daughter.

Terrible. Took all my money and still never finalized anything: she still trying to say I owe Her money after 5k paid, with no divorce. She dropped my case and postponed two hearings that never went to court. Still saying I owe Her money with fees keeping adding on to the balance that shouldnt have never been there in the first place. You will never hear from her or get anything done after you hire her.

She said I had to waive my constitutional right to an appeal to be able to accept the plea bargain. Then, after I got screwed, I had no way to appeal. I had a simple uncontested divorce so we didn't have ANYTHING to argue about. We have a daughter, we had joint custody of her. This Office did nothing for MONTHS it took 11 months and charged me for each month when they did nothing. I even served the papers for them to her. They made many mistakes so I would call them more then once and would charge me for the phone call. IT WAS YOUR MISTAKE LAURA why was I charged? A month before the court date I had to pay more money or she wouldn't show up. After it was all over she STILL sent me a bill for more. No reason an uncontested divorce should cost almost 10 K Plus 11 months...

She took 3500 from me and ruined my life. There wasn't any evidence against me yet she did not fight for me and it took 4 months for me to see my children. I fired her and she is still trying to charge me $250.00. Now tmy children aren't being taken care of and it's cost me 10,000 to start to try and fix what this lawyer destroyed. I have to sell my house due to the amount of money it will take to get my kids back. Don't let her keep doing this to people. As a other lawyer put it, 'you have no idea how many people have sat where you are now and said the same thing about this lawyer'. She was always late, always sloppy and never seemed to care about much. Then I see her online bragging that she's been married so many times her friends call her Elizabeth Taylor...I want to throw up
