Attorney General Child Support

La Marque and Russel Spurlock have this place backwards. After orders they erroneously paid a non custodial parent over a month of Child Support. They are quick to say it is your fault, but if you state orders, Mr. Spurlock states he is not an attorney and can't answer.

Four stars bc cmon it's a state agency. The employees are overworked, underpaid, generally doing the best they can, and dealing with a lot emotional people. So my rating isn't about the people or service; it's about the facility. Parking is weird and cramped. The office is one of many others in a tall ugly building. The office itself doesn't stand out, aside from the people wandering around. Good that it is situated near a bathroom because you might be there 30 min to 5 hours. The waiting area is typical, plastic chairs in rows, couple of desks in the back and a computer or two. The gatekeeper (lady you sign in with) is behind a plastic window, and it's hard to hear her most of the time. Not a fan. But once you get to speak to an actual agent, things turn for the better. Each agent has their own office with wide desks and two comfy chairs (anything is comfy after surviving the waiting room), one each for you and your baggage/plus one/kid/etc. You can tell which have been there for awhile; those are the ones you want to work with. Considering it's a government office, it feels relaxed yet focused on getting stuff done. I wouldn't mind working in my own office room like that.Of the AG offices, this one is my preferred office.

ANDREA is the rudest employee there. They are not there to help anyone but to make them feel the opposite. Wish we never had to go through these people for anything!! Obviously proves she hates her job. NO STARS would be a better option.

Never in there long... Always in and out... Never overlooked you are called in order...

They are there to do their jobs. The problem is deadbeat parents and those who dont comply with court orders. My suggestion is that they go after these people and punish them for their crimes. Which they rarely do. Step it up Ken Paxton. Do your job. People's welfare rely on it.

I agree with most of these reviews. My sister has been here multiple time in order to get some kind of assistance in turning an order but everytime she came they kept telling her no because she has a lawyer, now she doesnt no more and now they cant help her because its the law!? This place picks and choose when they want to help someone when its convienent and dont do their job at all.. like my sister hasnt gotten child support for almost a year and they never did anything about it or knew about it until my sister went and told them.. like dang! They aint even reviewing their cases making sure everything is being properly done but all they can do is send letters like wow.. If anyone knows and can help me figure out how to turn in and order by yourself without a lawyer let me know..

Closed for 3 days and during office hours no one answered the phone.

Im the custodial parent and the non custodial parent when to court in the year of 2014 or 2015. He's 2,000 and something behind. But he give the 13.83 for 1 child. What thats going to do. I wanted to go back to court to change everything but they told me ive got to get a lawyer for all of that and to be able to go back to court. But he have another man taking care of his child making sure that she is happy. Thats not right then when he dont pick her up from school ive got to leave work to go an pick her up from school. They arent helpful at all they just there for a check.

This place is terrible!! The only appeal to the mothers. Im the custodial parent, when i ask for any kind of help from them because the NCP, not paying her child support, i get the same answer ' we will send out a letter.' And when I ask the NCP for help I get responded with foul langauge and threats with police. Sad thing when we went in for a review the case woker felt so bad for the ncp because she and her husband have 2 other children that she lowered her support payment to 55.00 dollars (for 2 kids mind you). And even tried to get me to agree to forgive her arrears! I said no of course. The last email i sent was 2 months ago and i have not heard anything from the child support office. What about my children? The children she is financially responsible for, do they mean anything to the system?

If no stars were possible, I would choose it. This location has participated in the injustice of discrimination against my disabled husband. We did everything according to Texas State Law and guideline with no relief to this day. Complaints have been made, and will continue to be made until my husband is treated fairly and his matter is resolved and guideline.

Surprisingly I had an okay experience with the AG office. But it's a long drawn process and courts are too crowded. I had an attorney which made the process smooth and much bearable. But AG office does do a good job given the sheer amount of cases.

The people who work at this facility definitely know what they're doing, I left with a huge smile on my face! They can read a deadbeat dad a mile away!

Horrible customer service... very rude!!! And disrespectful! Kept asking my father very rudely loudly in front of other people in the office what his disability was! And wouldnt let him speak! Will never be back to them for help!

Let to many kids walking around with no idea what might happen to them if I'm nearby.

If you're not the custodial parent they don't care. They can take your money but not enforce visitation. I have never been treated with respect while here.

Another corrupt government entity. They should be in jail.

Experience was fine. Really didn't like how they asked me if I was going to ask for back child support in front on my child's father who proceeded to make me feel like it would be the end of the world. He hasn't really been there for her or given 1 cent for her care she is 11 now. I really think this question should not be asked in front of him.

Not too crowded, and they get to you fairly quickly. Was recommended for me to go here instead of the ones closer to Houston because it's not too busy.

I had custody of my son for 3 years and they still charged me child support. We went in and changed the paperwork in advance but because the agent made a typo on the forms in the date, which she changed and had us initial, the judge kicked it out.. so 3 years i tried to get it corrected. They ended up continuing to charge me. So when I got the paperwork to correct it, It showed I would have a JUDGEMENT against me?! why should i have a judgement against me when I was the custodial parent? So I didn't sign and now the balance still grows. I have seen my son 12 days in the last over 2 years because his mother moved to Australia. So I have no rights to my son, I have debt I don't owe which is about to be court ordered to close my accounts and when I call all I get is nice people who can not help me. I went in this time and still they are nice but now they say I didn't follow thru when I should have. Even though I had to get an attorney to see my rights... well now my ex refuses to assist and refuses to let m have access to my son!!! so i am not a fan of this agency. I must now get an attorney for custody rights and to try and correct what these agents messed up on five years ago??!!!

The lady at the front window old Mexican lady with glasses on 2/27/2018 at 4:13pm is a ***** Im not finna go into details kuz im a local guide but for a women to work at the attorney office you think she have a lil consent with a women and an infant but hell nah just like every other person in Galveston county..... just here for a pay check. Smmfh!!!!

Ken Paxton is a corrupt attorney general stealing taxpayers money using title 4, taking disabled veterans money without due process. I look forward to putting him in prison.

Absolutely terrible service, the ladies behind the desk are extremely rude, and cut you off like you're a child, rolling their eyes. They need to appreciate, because one day they may just be on the other side of that glass! Rude mean ugly.

Completely worthless humans that provide zero help. I filed 9 months ago & still have not even gone to court. They were sent everything they needed, not once but 3 times because 'they didn't have it' even though I got confirmation it was received. I have made over 50 calls trying to get a status update on where the case is at & have asked every single time I've if they is ANYthing I can do to speed it along. No one ever has any answers for anything I ask. Everyone passes the buck & blames past people who've handled the case & says they are going to do everything in their power to speed it up but there is NO follow thru. They do nothing they said or even bother to call you back. Personally, I think everyone should be fired & replaced with people that will actually do their jobs.

These people have no consistency. Every time I try to get something done whoever I happen to be talking to that day tells me I need a different form or I need to call someone deferent than the last person I talked to. Also they treat you like a dead beat dad from the get go. Typical government run crap fest. No one cares about their job because they can't get fired.

They take it upon themselves to make an appointment to come see them. When I get there they tell me they can't locate the absent parent in the other state, after I told them where he lives and they tell me they got with Post Office and he had no mail going to that address. I amb100% sure thats where he lives with his mama. So they want me to provide another address. I thought this is what you all are paid to do. So basically he gets away with paying support. I promise I didn't have any problems collecting when Greg Abbott was in charge wth is Ken Paxton doing. Did they cut funding or something because this is ridiculous.
