I do not believe I could have chosen a better attorney/paralegal team than Lianna and Kate. They made what could have been a terrifying experience into one that was manageable, cost-effective, and, in the end, financially rewarding. When I first came to them, my ex, who suddenly disappeared from me and my 3 kids lives, tried to serve me with a divorce lawsuit without providing me with the resources for an attorney. He tried to force me to agree to terms that wouldve left me destitute, especially since I have a psychiatric disability. Desperate, I consulted Kirker Davis, who incredulously directed me to go right back to him and tell him that the law demands he pay for my attorney or they will sue him. It was very empowering. That changed the whole picture and put us on a level playing field. I immediately began working with Lianna and Kate, who meticulously walked me through every step of the process, writing it all on a dry-erase board, making adjustments as the proceedings moved along. Because of my disability, their patience and clarity were particularly appreciated. Kate the paralegal is a phenomenal workhorse. She is incredibly professional, always one step ahead, and responds promptly to calls and e-mails. I dont know how I wouldve gotten through all that paperwork without her holding my hand. Lianna is a sincerely empathetic person, one whom I genuinely like and respect. She is not, however, afraid to go for a very ambitious settlement, which is what she did in my case. Because of her audacity and skill in attaining as much from a really high target as possible, I was awarded 12 years spousal support, the house, 60% 401(k), and max child support, and my ex was awarded all $175k of debt. This exceeded my expectations based on my research and previous consultations going into it. And she did it all while maintaining her wonderful, approachable character, with an eye towards keeping costs at a minimum. I am so glad I chose Lianna/Kate to take care of me (thats what it felt like, like they took care of me) through my divorce. Its a difficult thing to go through, but they make the process easier and ensure that your future will be as secure as possible.

April 3, 2019Let's face it, the divorce process is hard! I was given numerous referrals to different law firms around Austin when my ex, and I, decided we were going to get a divorce in October of 2018. Kirker Davis was the first firm I reached out to, and after speaking to the intake specialist about my situation, he paired me up with Lianna. I spoke to her on the phone (really liked her demeanor) and we met the next day!! I hired her on the spot after our in-person meeting and it was the best decision I could have ever made. She is a ferocious woman and truly works hard for her clients. She has an amazing attention to detail and her memory is unbelievable. She advises you of your legal rights in a way that is easy to follow and understand, for us non-lawyers. And when we went to mediation and court, you could see the admiration her colleagues have for her as well. 6 months after that first in-person meeting, I am officially divorced. It was a challenging process, both physically and emotionally, but it sure was nice to lay my head down each night and know I have Lianna in my corner. Cogent to providing a better understanding of the superior quality of this teams representation and my experience, Im compelled to provide a brief contextual background. I was a former physician who was married for 30 years to a very successful surgeon in Austin,Texas. It was disconcerting when my ex wife transferred and took control of all of our accounts and assets, leaving me in a very precarious financial position. Thus, without an income, nor access to our community estate, my ex wife through her attorneys attempted to squeeze me to settle for a paltry portion of our estate. Enter Kirker/Davis and my ex wifes intentions were abruptly halted, when I enlisted Chris Kirker and Holly Daviss legal help. Quickly, it was clear to both my ex and her attorneys the battle field had just changed substantially, and that my team meant to win. What ensued over the next 9 months was an arduous process, which ended in an actual jury trial lasting a week. Throughout those nine months, and especially during the week long jury trial, I witnessed the astounding synergism between these two attorneys with differing skill sets. Chris and Holly when combined, proved repeatedly to opposing council, they were simply outmatched on numerous levels. I even recall during the trial Chris tapping me on my leg under the table when he didnt like the body language I was displaying before the judge.For this I am grateful, for you see, because of this team and their dedication to this client, I walked away with fifty-eight percent of my estate which included ninety one percent of our retirement account.
