Take the time to read this review. Hopefully my experience with Ryan will help convince you that he is by far the best attorney in the Chattanooga area. I can honestly say that because I had two other attorneys for the same case before I retained him. I had what should have been an easy divorce turn into an absolute nightmare! The first attorney I hired, was a complete waste of money and literally didnt not know what she was doing. (Her last name is Fiddler - be warned lol). After it was obvious that she was hurting me more than supporting me, I retained another attorney (His last name is Byrd). After spending thousands with him (and never even meeting him in person) I decided it was time to research and get an attorney who would fight for me. Then I found Ryan Hanzelik.Ryan worked hard for me. He would call me on weekends where he had gone to the office to work my case. He communicated with me throughout the entire case and never ignored my calls to him. I quickly realized that he knew his stuff.As good as Ryan was during the prep, I was blown away with how good he was in the courtroom! Im not kidding. It was like watching Matlock in person. He was so good that the case for my ex crumbled while he was cross examining her key witness! We didnt even get far enough to present my side of the case. No lie: the opposing attorney looked over at him after the witness was dismissed from the stand and said to my attorney : I think you did too good of a job. It was amazing! The judge dismissed the witness credibility immediately after Ryan was finished cross examining him.I literally went from my ex going for $130k in alimony from me to NOTHING! I was blown away.So, take it from me, this is your guy. Hands down. I can say this from my own experience. He is my lawyer for life!

Im writing to extend my sincere gratefulness and appreciation to the diligent work of Ryan Hanzelik. Ryan never gave up on a case we never anticipated to take as long as it did. At a time in our case when things looked bleak Ryan hung in there and clearly and concisely explained to the judge the reasoning of why our case was a unique situation. The judge was so impressed by Ryans explanation in court he went on to compliment Ryan saying in all his time as a judge he had never heard such a well thought out explanation and that he was very impressed with Ryans work. I hired Ryan to help navigate my custody case for my son. With being blindsided by a case from my sons dad- I was incredibly anxious on what to expect. It was my first time having to deal with a divorce and he let me come in and we talked about what the necessary steps to take were. I was super nervous but he was very patient with me and answered every question I had. He made the whole filling process extremely fast, handled talking to the ex, answered all of her questions, and pretty much took care of everything that happened in court. We were recently served with a interstate child support arrears case. Due to the complexity of our case we knew it would be best to retain an attorney. Given the complexity of the case and the short time frame he had to work with, he immediately began to work on our case. Our case was quite complicated given there had been several other family law court cases in three different jurisdictions spanning over a period of 7 years. Ryan was able to understand the long history of court cases spanning over several jurisdictions and took action by filing a motion to dismiss the case. In result, Ryan won the case and the child support arrears case was dismissed. From the beginning to the end of our case, Ryan always made himself available and was able to answer any questions we had. I was very satisfied with him as my lawyer. He is understanding and does not make false promises. He is very reasonable for his price and is worth having him on your side. I hired him to try to get custody of my son because of his living situation with his mom. Needless to say it turned in to a long and drawn out custody battle. Ryan stuck with me for the whole time and I received more custody than I thought I would. He is excellent at communicating and does not take weeks to get back to you like some lawyers. I went into my case scared that I would get the typical 'dad' time. Every other weekend and pay out the butt in child support. After the first time I talked to Ryan I knew he was the man for the job I felt really comfortable around him! He went above and beyond my expectations. I loved working with Ryan. Even before he got paid he stood in a courtroom and helped me when my lawyer I was firing didn't. He is not only an awesome lawyer but person. None of those petty phone calls that have no new info where you are charged $200+ an hour, and you never have to wonder whose team he is on. If you want someone to blow smoke up your butt you are in the wrong place, but if you want someone to be honest with you and unafraid to be mean to you when you are being unreasonable then this is your guy! Ryan is amazing and I recommend him to anyone who is in a nasty custody battle against someone who is completely unreasonable! Never walk into the court room alone and with Ryan at your table he will do everything but hold your hand through the entire process. No question is too dumb for Ryan to give you an answer and crack a joke to make you feel better when the nerves set in. Worth every single dime! And probably a thousand more over the next 17 years!

I contacted Ryan concerning a change in child custody case in early 2013. As a father, a change of child custody case with the father seeking custody is difficult, if not impossible, unless you have professional representation and competent knowledge of the law. Besides having the knowledge and experience to represent me and my child, Ryan listened attentively to my concerns, fears and wishes. Ryan even listened to me rant during the frustrating times. Ryan explained the process to me in detail and outlined what we needed to prove for a change in child custody to occur. He is strong willed and effective when dealing with other attorney's while being professional. Ryan is concerned with the best interest of the child. I have used Ryan two separate times. What he has done for me and my daughter wasn't just professional and his job, it was way above and beyond what I feel anyone else would have done and was life changing for us.I paid Ryan for a divorce in 2009, then called it off b/c my ex wife and I were trying to reconcile. After that effort, she still wanted to go through the divorce so I called Ryan up for help. Not only did Ryan help, he said I'd already paid him for the divorce so he handled it at no additional cost to me. He could have easily charged me with it being a new case number and so much time elapsing, but he didn't. Then, this year, I needed to try and get custody of my daughter. I called Ryan. Ryan knows I don't have a lot of money and we came up with his fee and proceeded. Ryan went through a lot of trouble and frustration before my ex finally retained counsel, who made every step of our process difficult and tedious. Ryan never asked me for anything more even though in truth, he had to put so much more time and effort into my case than I'm sure he ever imagined. Had he done what I believe most would have, which is stop and ask for more money or withdraw from the case, my daughter could still be living in a bad situation to this day. She's not and I have only Ryan to thank for that.Ryan was always open with his communication with me, always willing to explain things to me and always willing to hear my suggestions. He offered advise, but if I insisted something, Ryan went by my wishes as long as they weren't going to hurt me. There were times Ryan would research things and send them to me simply to better inform me, which again I believe is over and above what many others would have done.I could go on for days at what Ryan Hanzelik's work and more importantly, his compassion for my situation did for my life, but the best way I can sum it up is that I called Ryan Hanzelik to be my lawyer and ended up with him being my friend, someone I'd do about anything for and a person that left an impression with me that'll never be erased.
