In June 2017 I was charged with a DUI, 1st offense and hired Mr. Deas' law firm. They worked well to have the suspension lifted on my license and succeeded in the seemingly easy process, however the actual case is another story. I got the impression that Mr. Deas was awaiting a plea offer that never came. We had come within a month of the scheduled court date and he had presented no defense strategies for the case, but rather went over the 'benefits' with me of taking a guilty plea to possibly avoid jail time. Almost a year after my arrest I hired a different firm and the case was dismissed within a few weeks. Dealing with the Deas Law Firm was rather stressful, at times. I never really felt in the loop about the case, it was difficult to get my calls returned in a timely manner, and there just seemed to be no sense of urgency regarding my case.

In 2020 I was charged with ( 1st time offender) assault and battery 1st degree, domestic violence, damage of property $2,000 or less. I came home from the VA hospital to my wife who committed adultery while my child was sleeping in his room; ultimately I thought was a intruder in my home the alternation was between me and the guy not my wife. I came to Mr. Deas with this issue hoping for it to get resolved he told me we have a strong defense no worries. Long story short I didn’t know I was taking a plea deal of lesser charge Domestic violence 3rd degree “non violent misdemeanor” until 15 minutes before I step foot in the courtroom Mr. Deas inform me its in my best interest to take the plea deal. 15 minutes isn’t enough time for something like that I am a innocent disabled veteran who was getting treatment at the VA came home reacted like any man would which was justifiable. I’m highly disappointed and felt I was just another “client” all those charges could have been dropped but now I have something on my record forever. I feel I haven’t been prioritized or taken serious in my case it has been lack of communication with the office and its was always a hassle getting in touch with Mr. Deas. Before my case he writes down information on what he is going to tell the judge about me that I would think he would already know and professionally prepare for as he is paid to do so before appearing before a judge that can make a life changing decision. Mr. Deas is a good guy but business wise I wouldn’t trust him with anything that could ultimately change your life. Would not be doing any further business with him in the future.
