I recommend Debra Stokes enthusiastically and unequivocally. After wasting money on other attorneys, I was fortunate to find Debra to be my advocate in an extremely high conflict custody case. My case was less about custody than it was a continuation of the psychological, emotional, and financial abuse that had characterized my relationship. Debra quickly grasped the dynamics that had eluded other lawyers and, finally, I had someone who was able to provide me and my child the protection and advocacy we needed. She was compassionate and highly competent, and I was able to step back and trust her do what was best for us, which was an enormous relief. Most importantly, the outcome of my case was more positive than I had dared to hope. She was my champion at time when I desperately needed one, and I will be forever grateful. Debra is the best.

Don't waste your money. She charges way to much. She drags the case on. She not there for you. Flat rate attorney is so mucheck better. As much as she charges and she's not a very good attorney. Please take me advise. Or you will just be throwing away money believe me.

I would highly recommend Debra for anyone needing a family lawyer in Charleston, SC. She represented me during a very messy, difficult, and hard divorce/custody battle. She went above and beyond the entire length of my case. I have friends who have had lawyers who are busy and don't always get back immediately to e-mails or phone calls. Debra is NOT that kind of lawyer. Multiple times through my case when either she or even I were on vacation at different times, I could e-mail her anytime, day or night, and she would immediately respond. It didn't matter how trivial the matter was, she was extremely prompt and professional at getting back to me and putting me at ease.
