I met Nicole Kairys through Second Saturday class to get an idea on what options i had since i was considering a divorce. I immediately felt such comfort with her then, I knew she was the one I wanted to represent me. I am a Business Teacher at South Fayette High School. In the fall I reached out to the Voelker & Kairys, LLC firm to request volunteers to conduct mock interviews with the 11th and 12th grade students enrolled in our department's College & Career Planning classes. Mr. Chuck Voelker willingly volunteered his time. After realizing he had a conflict with a court date and our interview date, he asked Mr. Jonathan Voelker to fill in. Again, there was another conflict with our interview date and a scheduled court date. Many businesses at this point would have made their apologies and backed out. Instead, the firm asked another associate, Ms. Ana Lisa Petrella to fill in and she was able to conduct several interviews with our students. Agreeing to conduct mock interviews for us, which are held during the work day, when there is nothing to be gained by the firm, no compensation, or benefit other than getting an opportunity to give back to the community and to further the students' educational experience is quite admirable. Voelker & Kairys, LLC has generously agreed to remain on our contact list for future mock interviews, which occur twice each school year. Volunteering and conducting the mock interviews with our students is an experience that is immeasurable. It allows the students to experience a real world interview but also teaches them the value of serving in their community. Ana Lisa Petrella is representing me in my divorce. I was looking for someone who could work with the opposing attorney yet still be firm when needed. Ana Lisa is executing my wishes very well. She listens to me and understands what's important to me and works to get me the outcome that I see as success. I had done plenty of research prior to having a consultation with Ana Lisa, and I understood that no one is ever going to be completely happy with the outcome of a divorce. Ana Lisa lets me know where and when I have a chance of winning and should fight, and where I'll need to be more flexible. Very knowledgeable and experienced attorneys. Family law is tough for the client and the attorney involved. Family law, divorce and custody, are full of volatile emotions. Chuck Voelker and Nicole Kairys both are compassionate about the law to help their clients achieve the best possible outcomes. They take time to learn about the families and situations involved. I was well prepared for all possible outcomes when I appeared in court with Nicole and Chuck. They were direct, honest and experienced in what the resolutions may include which may not be what you want or expect. Their experience showed as a true advantage in my cases. Above all they were concerned for myself and my children's well being. I would highly recommend them for any family law matter.

My experience was similar to that of the previous reviewer. I had two different attorneys representing me from this firm. They were both terrible at communicating with me. Any concerns or questions I had were mostly ignored even after asking multiple times. Attention to detail was also lacking. I was very concise and explicit with descriptions of paperwork I was asked to send in. Unfortunately, I would catch mistakes that were made in organizing and labeling certain files I sent to them when they would ask me to verify things. My first lawyer left the firm and I was given the choice to follow her to her new firm (no thanks!) or stay with Voelker & Kairys. I chose to stay with this firm and be represented by a different lawyer within the firm. At first, communication was decent. It quickly became apparent that my new lawyer was just as bad as my first. Again, I was dealing with questions and concerns being ignored. My estranged spouse and their legal counsel were playing aggressively, constantly sending me threatening letters. Meanwhile, my legal counsel just sat idly by and refused to be aggressive on my part. The last straw was when I had to ask 3 times about how to prepare for a fast approaching support conference and got no response to my query. This firm truly does what they can to churn a case and run up the costs in their favor. Additionally, the billing does not reflect actual time spent on each task. A vague monthly bill is sent that shows the total time spent on the case since the last bill but does not break down the time spent on each task listed. I would not recommend Voelker & Kairys, LLC for a divorce case. I have since hired a different firm to represent me. My new lawyer actually found in my file that neither of my previous attorneys filed paperwork to protect my assets during the divorce process. It was a basic thing to do in a divorce case and it wasn't done by my last two attorneys.

Attorney Nicole Kairys helped me and a friend with a very personal issue in 2013. She listened, followed up professionally, and helped us deal with a situation that was not easy. Extremely poor communication, they do not know their clients!! Send out documents late. The attorneys would prefer to go through costly litigation! They are about making more money for the firm. Do not even deserve 1 star.
