Other firms turned their backs on me due to my financial situation, but Angela McIlveen accepted the challenge. Angela is intelligent, honest and most importantly, she cares about her clients. My case is not a fun one. But Angela has stuck with me through a lot of challenging motions and hearings. David Simmons was the most professional, hard working, caring lawyer. We hired him on an emergency custody case 4 hours from our home. He spent the weekend getting ready and handled our case very knowledgeablely. He kept us up to date on everything happening and was always available to help and answer all questions and concerns. At the next hearing he was right on point and the other lawyer was unable to answer. If I ever need a lawyer down that way again I would use David Simmons only. Speaking on behalf of Sean Mcllveen and my experience was rather exclusive to his representation. I cannot recommend him enough. Absolutely pick up the phone, make the call, and sit down. His aggressive approach to the lies and deception in my case made the judge see through all the BS. Couldn't be happier with the outcome.

These people are amazing. I called and on a very short notice I needed to get some legal work done. They had never met me before But they worked with me and got me in the next day. They went out of their way to help. Great people. Thanks to all of them.

Avoid at all cost. Maybe if your case is simple and you have money to waste then ok, but If your case involves children or is time sensitive, RUN! First I put $8000 because I felt like I was in good hands. Plus I was told they were the best. Sean made me feel comfortable as I was there for emergency custody of my children. They did nothing and I mean nothing! Six weeks later I almost got arrested for contempt, after my attorney said it would never happen. The firm told me not to worry, but they destroyed my case and our lives. They took $8000, then another $4200 was deducted from my account without my knowledge. Plus I was charged with my ex $7500 court fees. He walked away with my children and has never been there for my children or paid children support in over a year. This law firm is full of lies, and stole my money. They did not represent me for one thing on my contract and has yet to make it right. Now lets hope the bar Association will. Please save your family and avoid this law firm. Their reputation can not be the best of gaston county any longer.

I called with a situation going on that needed immediate attention. The staff was very very helpful and got me in the next day. I met with David Simmons who was very professional and listened to my situation patiently. He offered three possible solutions with possible outcomes. He advised me based on what my financial restraints were. He spent over an hour with me. The fees were very reasonable. He also let me know if there were any further questions that I could call him. I did call the next day and he was easy to reach. I greatly appreciated their help and advice and prompt response. I would certainly use them again and recommend them to anyone seeking legal council. McIlveen Family Law Firm is tops. My husband and I have used Attorney Sean McIlveen on several occasions in the past ten years. He is truthful about what he feels he can do and does not lead you to high hopes that are not within reach. He knows the law and sets out to accomplish your and his goals. We feel very comfortable and at ease conferring with Attorney Sean McIlveen. When leaving his firm, we feel confident that he will do his best.

I dont know where to start!!! As a father every dream is to raise his son and make them a better man than the father is. Unfortunately that dream was dimmed before the birth of my son. Within the first month of my sons life I had to look into obtaining an attorney. After consulting with two other law firms McIlveen was they ONLY firm that gave assurance that they would go full throttle in my defense. In 5 month my appointed paralegal and attorney left the firm and that was an atestment to quality of work that McIlveen represents. Unfortunately my appointed attorney left 4 days before my hearing. Chelsea and Sean did not hesitate to step in and they did not miss a beat in my case. I could have not been more pleased with their work ethic and determination to fight in my defense. The demeanor that I wanted to displayed in this case was second nature to them and they put on a world renown performance in the court room. They had an determination to prove that mothers are not the law and that fathers do deserve to be fathers. If I could demand an encore I would. Not only did they get the results I desired but the entire firm from attorneys, paralegals, secretaries all reached out within 30mins to an hour of the decision by the judge. That craziest part is we are not done. I can not thank nor praise the McIlveen Law Firm for boulder they lifted off my shoulders in the case for my 5 month old son. If you are in need of the proper respresention for custody, child support, or anything involving family law DO NOT HESITATE TO HIRE MCILVEEN FAMILY LAW FIRM. Mclleveen Law is an absolute waste of money. My fiance has had continuous issues with billing and contact. The law office refuses to provide specifics about billing information and is lacking in communication skills with clients. No contact with your lawyer and unexpected bills for no service. I would advise anyone to go elsewhere.

Initially, I was very nervous about choosing an attorney. However, my first (no commitment) meeting with a McIlveen attorney in July 2015 was pretty satisfactory. Last week we had our mediation which wrapped up all the loose ends and I think the final deal was fair to both parties. My Attorney, Anna Carpenter did an excellent job by remembering all the details, having all documents ready on her laptop and being very competent in her work. So, thanks you Anna.

My boyfriend Paid 5000 and never got an results. They seem to side with his son's mother and basically told my boyfriend to do what they wanted instead of helping him fight for his child. Also never filed paperwork that they said they would do.

We had a wonderful experience using Sean McIlveen for our custody case. He went out of his way to meet with us quickly and was very helpful, as was everyone in his office. I highly recommend him to anyone who needs to retain an attorney!

!!!SPARE YOURSELF!!! RUN AWAY!!! SCAM!!! !!!STEALS FROM VETERANS!!!The initial minimum contract fee was 8000$. I was told that should handle everything unless we were in court for weeks. It was used up extremely fast. I was charged just to call and find out if there was any new word. The firm charged my credit card and have cost me more than double what I was quoted. There was very poor communication. My calls and emails were not answered in a timely manner. Representation was poor as well. Alot of the documents I was asked to provide were not even brought to court. I asked for copies of everything notes and all. I was given a flash drive without the documents I requested. This place is a scam. Money is the motive not the childrens best interest. Before court he told me he was going to argue being a veteran was not reason enough to keep the children from me but later that week he was going to argue the opposite for another client. My case was dragged out and I was milked for everything I could spare. Hiring this firm was a horrible decision. Please save your money and take it elsewhere.UPDATE AUGUST 1ST 2018THIS FIRM STILL HASNT PROVIDED THE DOCUMENTS OF MINE I REQUESTED AND ARE STILL TRYING TO KEEP BILLING ME. I have used this law firm for both custody cases involving my children. They are compassionate in dealing with all of your issues and strive to help anwser any questions you have as soon as you have them. The staff working with attorneys are also very helpful and always make sure that you are safe and direct you in the way that would best help yourself. This law firms really does seem to care for your feelings dealing with hard issues as child custody and divorce and you are not just another case to finish. I came to Mcllveen law firm literally with nothing to loose. My case was upside down because I didn't have a lawyer before Sean and it was a complete mess. I literally had my back against the wall. Sean was literally there for me every step of the way. I got my kids to stay with me in North Carolina and couldn't be more happier. I will say this is not the cheapest law firm, but you get what you pay for and I got the professional service that I paid for. My case was not easy at all. But because of Sean I am with my kids.

I paid $9000, went to court two times. Both times the case was put off. My balance went down to $1000 and I requested my attorney to get off the case. Now a few weeks later being billed for almost $1,500! I literally have had NO results. And pray if you are considering this firm, that you think twice. I feel robbed and disgusted!

I was so happy to receive an invitation to write a review of this law firm from one of those useless brochures they send on a monthly basis. I couldnt be more dissatisfied with the service I received during my divorce. I felt like my attorney completely sided with my ex-wife on all matters even though I paid the attorney to directly represent me. After speaking with multiple attorneys in Charlotte after I fired my previous attorney from McIlveen, I quickly realized that I had been charged at least 30% more than average and ended up being convinced to settle on paying alimony of 35% higher than other similar cases involving a couple that both had full-time jobs with zero children. I paid over $10,000 in attorney fees and received absolutely nothing in return. I will never use or recommend this McIlveen Family Law to anyone. Cheers!

This law office has incompetent lawyers, and lack any kind of follow through. A basic adoption and they dont even know the process or how it works.

I have tried to contact them for 3 days now with no response . The worst part this is a very time sensitive matter for a child's safety. How can you trust they will really fight for your child's safety if a potential new client can't get a call back .

I can not recommend McIlveen Family law. My attorney was Sean McIlveen and he repeatedly did not live up to the expectations both he and I originally set. In court he did not seem prepared and he rarely returned my calls or emails. I know finding a good divorce attorney can be stressful, and really all I had to go on was searching the internet. Their web presence was what initially drew me to the law firm and after about a year, I had to eventually seek another attorney that I am happy with. He talks a good talk when you first meet, but I quickly learned that he simply has too many clients and cannot devote the time necessary to be a well prepared, trusted attorney. He method of keeping track of billable time also leaves you wondering if he is the right attorney for me. Turns out, he wasn't.

I would recommend the Mcllveen law firm to anyone!!! They did an awesome job for me and I even got more than I expected. I would never use any other lawyer for my family needs other than Sean Mcllveen.
