Lori led my husband and I through the decision making of our trust and will. This was a difficult journey as we married later in life had separate children and grandchildren. Mrs. Zellers is a remarkable attorney. My one request in hiring her was timely communication due to the fact that I am a long distance client and she has exceeded my expectations. I always receive responses to phone calls and emails within 24 hours and the office always finds ways to fit me in for appointments within the week. Also her paralegal Michelle is always courteous, professional and efficient. I highly recommend this law office.

Lori, Mike and Michelle are always very accommodating to my busy life when handling any and all of my legal matters. Lori has helped me through several years and situations in regards to custody, conservatorship, and a grandparents action through probate. All of these situations are stressful and Lori goes above and beyond to be sure results are reasonable and best for my family. She listens, she understands and is compassionate and caring about your individual situation. She will also be realistic on expected outcomes and makes sure youre fully prepared when and if court is necessary. Lori has been a wonderful resource and also friend to me through troubling times. I highly recommend her to anyone who needs someone on their side of the fence. She is an expert in her field and knows the law.

Find another attorney. The real fact is Lori does nothing for your case and cares only about money and does not look out for you or your child or your future. I hired her after my divorce was over to help with several legal issues. She asked for all sorts of documents and emails and everything else you could ask for. Everything was given to her, yet NOTHING was ever used or even talked about after she received the documents, and of course nothing was ever brought up in front of the judge or during court. When she found that the other attorney wasnt following the counties rules that went into effect months before, the judge even followed the previous rules, as I watched Lori stand there and say nothing or press the issue. She even allowed them to file false information when she had the truth in her hands. So if you want you dont have to follow Ottawa county rules or allow the other side to file false information or frivolous motions, Lori will allow it to happen against you! Then the next day after court my new wife and I are in the hospital as we are welcoming our child into the world. Guess who calls?! Lori! She first asks how everyone is doing and then goes right into it, her advice for the hearing the day before, borrow money. That is correct, the day your child is born, your lawyer calls to advise you to; either take out a loan, borrow money from a friend or family member, or put what you can on a credit card! That was suggested several times, not just that time. Great advice as nothing else was ever advised by her for any of the other hearings we had. It was all about money.Now in court, shell be there for you. But she will have the judge do all her work for her. I got to watch as the judge in 2 different hearings handle the defense, as she opened her opening statements with I have no defense your Honor! and surprising we had the motion against us denied. Yet Lori never once in any of her objections request legal fees be paid by the other party, and since she never did for this hearing, the judge stated he wasnt going to order fees be repaid. I got to watch as Lori stood there doing nothing and saying nothing again. She does not look out for you, her client, as she make decisions on her own for you and will settle without your knowledge or approval, and you never authorized her to do so. She stated at the first meeting she would do everything in her power and under her knowledge of the law to represent me, be aggressive and fight, and make sure that I was protected in the future. That was all incorrect, as the opposite happen. And make sure that she doesnt make a mistake on any hearings or paperwork, and meetings. Because if SHE does make a mistake, she will still bill you for all of it and only apologize to you as you have already wasted enough of your time the day before the hearing is to take place, and the kids are at a daycare and you then have to have other people take care of them while you were waiting for the hearing she messed up on. Lori is a great lawyer if you are a millennial or dont have anything to fight your ex-spouse about other than your goldfish. Even Mike seemed to handle things better than Lori. Dont waste your time or money asking for Lori to handle your divorce and seek someone that actually will fight and care for you as their client and make sure you are protected. As I have learned the hard way you need someone that will fight for you in court. This law firm is not that place.

Lori has been a lifesaver for my family. Through my messy divorce, ensuing custody battle, and even parental kidnapping, Lori has helped us navigate FOC and the courts to keep my child safe and happy. Lori has also been a blessing with my husbands custody case as well. Shes calm, balanced, empathetic, and realistic. Whats more: Lori was sensitive to our financial limits, and helped us to navigate all the drama without having to go in debt. Couldnt recommend highly enough for family law.

Lori Zellers was such a blessing to me for two different cases that I had to go to court for. I had her help me go through a divorce where my former husband wanted full custody of my children and didnt want to share any of his 401 k. Because of Lori, I received half of his 401 k, whatever I wanted in the house, Child support and the best part was getting the judge to agree to joint custody. My former husband could have totally gotten his way if it were not for Lori because I struggle with bipolar and have been hospitalized many of times. The second time I needed Lori to go to court with me, she fought again and I got everything I wanted and more. She also let me pay her back with no interest when I could afford to! Lori is always on time and just has a way of making her clients not have to worry at all about going to court. I will ALWAYS go to Lori for the rest of my life. Unbelievably disrespectful receptionist and company manner. We scheduled a consultation and were unable to make appt. due to family emergency and by the time we called the office they were closed. We called next business day to reschedule and the receptionist Michelle was incredibly rude , my husband attempted to explain what happened and she immediately cut him off and berated him saying they will not pursue services with us because we could not call before the appointment to reschedule. The most unprofessional customer service we have ever experienced. We asked to reschedule as we are very in need for a lawyer and even would have paid the fees of the free consultation we missed however again responded to my husband as if he were a child. I would never recommend Lake Shore Law and Mediation nor would I feel confident in their services.
