I worked with Michael for a year and a half and have nothing but great things to say. He is knowledgeable, honest and upfront about the 'laws of custody'(and much more) and helped guide me through each step with patience. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this law firm and specifically Michael King.

I have been to several lawyers who have always seemed to make matters worse. It has been 4 years of pure hell in the Kent County Courthouse for me. I was very nervous hiring another lawyer since so many have failed me. My son and his protection is my number one concern. Wayne and Jacqueline heard me. Today in court was 100% different and for the better! Wayne fixed everything for me. Made me feel secure and really helped me in my fight for keeping my sweet little boy safe. Horrible. Started out saying all the right things. Once they got the full retainer......crickets. Hired a different lawyer who's gotten more done in 2 days then they did in an entire week. Emails went without replies. I understand they had short notice, and it was just a probation violation. But when you're facing jail time it's a big deal to you.

Mr. King has been a tremendous help. He willing accepted my custody case when other lawyers would only offered a bit of advice over the phone and a recommendation that I should 'wait and see before taking action'. Mr. King and his assistant Leah met with me very quickly and got started. Due to the circumstances of my case there wasn't much that could be done at first, however it was comforting knowing that I had someone in my corner to worry about the legal stuff freeing up time that I could then put towards taking care of my daughter.As of today it appears my case will soon be resolved and I will have full custody of my little girl. Mr. King openly informed me from the beginning that there was no guarantee that the results would go the way I hoped. He has been realistic throughout, never promising anything other than to do his best and see what happens.I read a review that heavily knocked Mr. King's abilities due to how his own custody case worked out. During our first meeting he told me about how his divorce and custody battle went, for him to freely talk about how things did not turn out the way he wanted in his own situation shows in my opinion a true strength. I would rather have 1 lawyer that is honest and realistic than 1,000 lawyers that are unrealistic liars.I hope that once my case is finished I will never need a lawyer again, however if I find myself in need again I will not hesitate to give Mr. King a call.

This firm charged me 2500 to resolve my whole divorce. My buddy Branson spent 25000 for his divorce. Mike was awesome and did a terrific job fighting for custody I would support them any day of the week.

Wayne is highly experienced and has a wonderful staff that truly care. The Law Firm also offers flat rate fee retainers to ensure clients are not surprised with an overwhelming bill at the end of their case. I would highly recommend!

Did not have a good experience with this law firm, I was going though a divorce they did not file papers right or keep in contact with me I had to text and make multiple phone calls with them because I had no clue what was going on. My lawyer left the law firm that was working on my case they did not tell me and gave someone new my case and I had to redo everything which that really hurt my case. I'm still fighting with my ex on things this law firm could not help me with.

I was so very pleased by Michael King. Though I never wish divorce on anyone, Micheal helped this process go so smoothly. From file date in April until the day of my mediation in June we are all wrapped up. Now just waiting for the final judgement in October.

Amazing staff. Professional and effective!

I lost time and money employing this law firm. I was robbed of my money due to Michael king being unprofessional and very arrogant.. I never met the man face to face and only spoke to him about my case for 15 minutes. He didnt care one bit about my case. He didnt even show up to our court date because he was having car issues that morning and that he lives in Lansing!! LANSING REALLY?! You take cases in Grand Rapids but live in Lansing, and cant even bother to let me know that he wont be there?! I found out when he didnt show up the day of court. He let everyone know expect for his client! He knew I was so fed up of him that he would suggest that I find a new lawyer. He suggested it the first time I ever talked to him. I was so fed up of him that I asked for my money back. But instead of giving me the remaining money that was not used in my retainer, he and the law firm charged me for him not showing up to the court date, for time having to right the invoice, and $250 for the INVOICE itself, which all equaled to be the remaining balance of my retainer. On top of that they say I owe them $50?! Yeah your not getting that, so dont even bother. This law form did nothing for me but stress me out, steal my money, and make me feel hopeless. I hired Kurt to work my case but, Kurt does not work at that law firm anymore. And he also was pulling my leg most of the time. I would never recommend this law firm to anyone especially parents..
