DO NOT HIRE FRED JOHNSON!!!Let me just start by saying that the unprofessionalism of this man is at an all time low. For starters, he showed up five minutes before I was supposed to sign a felony plea deal when he told me to get there 30 minutes early.When I asked him about the plea deal, he told me to walk down the street and ask the probation officers themselves, what to expect instead of giving me personal knowledge. Unbelievably unprofessional.He also told me, The amount of money that I provided him for this type of case was peanuts Funny because he never drew up a written contract of any sort.So obviously he didnt have to pay taxes on the couple thousand dollars, cash that I gave him, nor did he show me any work that he did on my case; Besides one email to the prosecutor, which was basically just to get me a plea deal and get me out of his hair.... and when I asked for body cam footage, or ANY type of evidence that he retrieved to prove my innocence, he provided me with nothing; then withdrew from me after I decided I didnt feel comfortable taking a plea deal that was not explained to me thoroughly. He simply did what most attorneys do, just try to get a plea deal and move you along.He also represented a friend of mine, who said he felt Fred told him exactly what he wanted to hear while doing no investigation to prove his innocence.I remember at one point during the case asking him if he had looked into a particular matter of the case, to which he replied well have you looked into the matter. Funny thing is, I actually did. I got the body cam footage myself, the police report, as well as the dispatch audio.I strongly advise you, dont hire an attorney who is only going to try to seek a plea deal unless you feel the plea is fair, find one who is out to fight for justice and help defend your constitutional rights. When I spent my time calling around trying to get additional information on my case, everyone and their mother told me to talk to my attorney and because I was being represented they couldnt speak with me. So I strongly advise you to find someone who is actually going to get a damn because they will not speak to you if you have representation.

He will have you in for a consult and convince you he can help. After you pay him the help may stop. He flat out refused to perform work on our case after getting paid. Stay away.

I would give less stars if I could. Jeff Otis seemed to be sincere and we really thought he could help with our situation. I didn't realize he was a recovering alcoholic but he was honest and offered that information. The advice he gave us caused more problems and was bad advice period. He didn't show up to court and the person filling in for him gave us bad advice too. After hiring a new attorney our situation has drastically improved and she had to fix what he messed up. We've asked for a refund for services not performed and he hasn't even bothered to give us an invoice or a refund. I would not recommend using Jeff Otis, save yourself some money and heartache for bad advice.
