Worst possible lawyer. Overcharges for everything and accomplishes absolutely nothing. He has no idea what he's talking about when it comes to family law. He charged me for phone calls I made to him to correct him on information he gave me. He explained different aspects of orders completely incorrect and made zero effort to ever prepare for our one court date that accomplished nothing but somehow cost thousands of dollars. Would not recommend to anyone.

I looked for and contacted so many different attorneys to try and help me with my out of state legal problem, and no one could help me, until I came to Marty. In a very short period of time Marty helped me with a problem I had been dealing with for the better part of a year. All the staff was very helpful and welcoming. I am very happy with my experience.

My husband hired Marty in September and we are still waiting for paperwork to be filed so that court dates can be set. My husband has called and emailed several times and still nothing but a run around. Of course we'll be charged for doing all the communicating. An appointment was set for my husband to go in to the office, two months after the initial consultation, but was cancelled two hours before. My husband had to pull strings with his employer just to get off work for the appointment. That was a week ago and still no appointment has been rescheduled. I'm highly disappointed with the extreme inconsiderate communication from everyone in that office.

My wife and I paid Mr. McCloskey to help us with a step parent adoption that was expected to be contested. It was the first time Ive ever hired a lawyer, we paid all the money up front and it was made clear what he was going to do for the money we paid, we also were honest and very cooperative in answering any questions truthfully. A lot of time passed and we began to worry we werent going to get any calls or mail. But Mr. McCloskey was hard at work and with 1 court date everything was done! No extra fees, no classes, no road blocks popped up which was very surprising considering all the laws around adoption. We will definitely trust him with anything related to the courts in the future! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! I can not thank this attorney and his staff enough. They were patient and kind with me as I was going through my divorce. This Lawyer is the best I have ever seen.He is honest and explains things thoroughly. He works hard on your case like you are the only one that matters. He is smart and very kind. You do not get that in lawyers anymore.

ALL NEGATIVE REVIEWS ARE CORRECT. This man has basically done nothing. The ONLY thing he did do was send us a letter in the mail stating how much we owed. Cannot get him to return phone calls or emails. Yet he is able to most numerous times daily on facebook. We asked Martin to withdraw from our case a week ago and he still has yet to file that with the court!! Note: He is paid on full $2600.00 later and all we get when we try to call him is, 'I can't talk right now' ' I don't have time, I'll get it done in a day or two. then weeks go bye!! this is not right. He is short fused, and will not help prepare his clients and obviously does not care about people that have reached out to him for help. Therefore how can he help our community. I am glad he lost the running. I am a very fair person when it comes to life, and things that happen. But you just don't go around treating people the way you have Marty. When a person feels scared to even call their own attorney for the help they need in their case. THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THAT!! We have obtained new counsel and feel absolutely so grateful! Martin Mckloskey was amazing to work with. He was honest and helpful. He gave the case his all and told me exactly what I needed to do to win (even if all I needed to do was shut up, listen and let him do his job) and we did! Any low ratings on here are from people that either lost to him or that weren't willing to do what he asked of them. Trust me when I say this man is an amazing attorney going on 5 years now of using his services and I don't regret a penny spent. He has managed to get me almost everything I've asked for in court and believe me I reached for the moon in some cases.

McCloskey hands down is a GREAT attorney. He does not play favorites he listens to facts and upholds his morals. His prices are fair and showed nothing but respect to myself and my children. All around great guy!

What kind of an attorney can't prepare a written contract with details of what they aim to accomplish in court? I'm so glad I read all these reviews before paying an imbecile to do a simple job like handling a probation violation. I could present myself in court alone more professionally than this guy.

Attorney McCloskey was so helpful!

Paid him 2 different retainers to reinstate visitation and emancipated my 19 year old son.....did neither saying retainer was used up in his time making copies...now wants more money to do what he was supposed to do in first place...so not recommended. Update. Still has not done a single thing on my case supposedly billed 4000 dollars in hours and accomplished nothing. If you give him any money you are just throwing it away. Find a real lawyer.

The man is severely unprofessional. If you ask for an itemized bill for the services he has 'provided' he will ignore you. When you tell him you refuse to pay the balance until you see the bill he gets rude and files a motion to withdraw. Which is about the only thing he does quickly. He is incompetent to the max. Does not seem to know family law as well as he claims to. He does not communicate your case either! If you are a single mother who enjoys verbal abuse, talked down to, and being ripped off this is the guy for you. He not only was rude to myself but my mother as well. His excuse, 'I am sorry, I was having a bad day.'

One of the most dedicated and hard working lawyers I have ever had the opportunity to work with. His clients all have his personal cell phone number and he often takes calls all weekend if emergencies arise.

Hard to get a hold of.

He told us his fees do not include an invoice, that he works above and beyond what he charges. When we pushed for an invoice, he said it would cost an additional $600. We fired him without paying the invoice fee. He contacted the court in my custody case and claimed we refused to pay him for his services which affected my case negatively. Additionally while talking to him via telephone about my case he was often extremely unprofessional in conversation and at times even inappropriate. If you have money to throw away and do not care about the outcome of your case, by all means, hire him.

Doesn't even deserve 1 star. He literally disrespected my mother so bad. Like he hired her, not her hiring him. He charged my mom $2500 and she had 3 appts with him and 7 phone calls. She asked him on serveral occasions to go to court to get spousal maintenance..and he had us find all the paperwork..But wasnt enough..nothing was ever enough. He treated my 66 yr old mother like garbage. He claims he has God in his heart..Really? What man treats a women..his client like garbage?? I would NOT recommend Martin McCloskey as an attorney if your case is difficult. Clearly he cant not handle difficult cases. Oh and I was a personal friend with Martin. And today as soon as he again spoke disrespectful to my mother..I immediately contacted him and he hung up on me. Then he blocked me from his facebook page. A little guilty?? I feel like the fool that trusted him to have my mom hire him. What a mistake. Again if you have a difficult case then I would NEVER recommend Martin McCloskey.
