I cannot say enough about the team at Henderson Law. Courtney and Wendy were incredibly helpful before, during and after my child support court case. I really felt heard by both of them and others that I had to communicate with. They were on top of their responses and communication and would explain everything thoroughly so I was left with no additional questions. Of course, if I had any questions, they were more than happy to answer. Courtney did a phenomenal job defending me in the trial. At each court date and during the trial, she always knew her stuff whether it came to my situation, the law, etc. They are always willing to help or answer a question for me even after my case ended. Also, they were very flexible with payment plans which helped greatly!

I hired Angela after firing my first lawyer. I found her via internet, and I was skeptical. She has too many positive reviews. I thought it had to be fake. All the other lawyers I googled did not. One mistake I felt I made was my prior attorney was in a different county. I have learned that you want one that is familiar with your county. Angela only works will county which impressed me versus many other lawyers who will go anywhere to make money. Angela's firm gave me a free consult so I decided to give her a try. My first lawyer tried to 'fluffy' up my case and suggest he could do things to work in my favor. Angela listened to my case and did not feed me any fluff. 100% straight forward. She was very familiar with my Judge and she had done many trials with him. After spending 45 minutes with her, I knew she was the one. She never once made one mistake with my case. She can think on her feet like no one I have ever seen before in my life. I got to witness a conversation with her and the opposing counsel. She amazed me how she handled him. Long story short, I would of never got the deal I got without her. She knows how to handle lawyers and judges. Her pricing is no less then 5x less then my prior lawyer. I truly feel she undercharged me which I don't think anyone has ever said of a law firm. She made my deal happen without trial also, which I was for sure destined for with my prior lawyer. Great negotiator. She did exactly what I asked of her. So, I was reluctant to believe all the positive reviews but they are true. Thank you Angela, I can finally sleep!

I dont write many reviews unless I feel strongly about it and this is one of those times. I am not a huge fan of attorneys, but due to difficult circumstances; I was in desperate need of a good one. After thoroughly completing my research into different family attorneys, I chose Courtney Mehta at Henderson Law Firm and I am incredibly grateful for my choice. The office is located across the street from the historical Joliet Court House building. Henderson Law Firm isnt like the typical firms I have previously visited. The staff were surprisingly warm and inviting; it was refreshing.Courtney wasnt what I was expecting at all. She was so much better. She is intelligent, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. She understands family court and really tries to get you the most for the money you have to spend. For instance, when she prepares a motion, she requests that you come in and complete them with her so you can ask questions and have a clear understanding of what is going on within the case; saving you valuable time and money. Although family court is a long process, she didnt drag out court dates like some lawyers my family members have used. She worked well with the guardian ad litem to make sure each court date was efficiently utilized for the outcome that we were aiming for. I truly felt like she cared about what was going on with my family; and that alone meant everything. If you have questions, her Paralegal, Wendy is incredibly helpful. Most of the time she knew all the answers to the questions that I had, and if for some reason she didnt, she always found out and informed me as soon as she knew.I highly suggest Courtney Mehta, at Henderson Law. If I ever have a family court case, I will not be using anyone else.

In this case not sure what happened. I know the attorney seemed a bit frustrated with the judge. The judge did not let her client speak, but let the defendant who came without representation ramble on and on. It was like the attorney and the client were not even in the room. Nice job judge. You just destroyed a little girls heart. She sobbed uncontrollably when her daddy had to tell her she could not remain at her current school because the judge would not give him residential custody. Parents have shared custody, so was not an issue of custody. She begged her daddy to please get full custody because she did not want to live with her moms boyfriend who is a convicted felon. And she just does not like him. She would rather live with her dad full time. But her dad said that given that the judge did not even ask a GAL to look into the case, his chances of getting full custody were slim. Even if mom is living with a convicted felon. Very sad. I cannot say enough good things about Henderson Law and Mediation; particularly my attorney Courtney Mehta! Being a single mom with a limited budget, I was very intimidated with the whole process of finding a lawyer and facing my ex (never married) in court over child support/custody. Within five minutes of speaking with Courtney, I felt heard, respected, and supported by someone who clearly had experience with high conflict cases. Not only did Courtney immediately get to work on my case, but in a way that saved me as much time and money as possible. Family court can be absolutely terrifying, I highly suggest Courtney for anyone who has struggled to coparent with an individual who refuses to cooperate. Not only did she get my child support modified to the correct amount, she also helped us reach an agreement that same day on a parenting plan which established our rights and responsibilities as coparents and set much needed boundaries to avoid conflict in the future. At the end of the day, the most important thing is that our son (almost 2 yrs old) is provided for financially and is given the opportunity to spend time with both parents without being exposed to constant conflict. I would most definitely use Courtney again for any future legal issues and highly recommend her and the team at Henderson Law and Mediation to anyone looking for honest, efficient, and genuinely caring representation!
