A couple of years ago, I found myself making the hard decision to go back to family court. It wasn't easy on me or my family and I had no idea where to find a 'good' lawyer. Deanna came very highly recommended to me by life partner who had her as his lawyer in his divorce. He said that she was practical, and straight forward with no bullsh!t, so I made an appointment to see her with a free consultation. She was everything that he said. She told me thoughts in -a no nonsense manner and didn't sugar coat things. She let me know where the strengths were and where the weaknesses were. Then she told me about all the cost involved and gave me recommendations for other avenues to take to resolve the issues I had should I decide that court wasn't the right option after all. I ended up choosing Deanna to be my lawyer 6 months-a year later. She is extremely smart and very professional. Her staff is detailed driven but also warm and friendly when you come in the office. Even the Accounts Receivable personnel are kind and friendly, and very helpful and patient with questions about the bill. I can tell you with all sincerity that I never want to go back to family court again, but with that same sincerity I can tell you that if i ever have to, you can bet I'm going to have Deanna with me. There's no other lawyer I would trust to protect not only my interests but, more importantly, the interests of my children. I can not recommend the Law office of Deanna Bowen enough! We received papers from my ex husband about a post decree issue...it was frankly ridiculous. But even knowing that we were still concerned and worried about the papers coming out of no where. We met with Deanna and she completely eased our fears within the first 10 min. After talking with her and through the whole process her and her entire staff were on top of everything! The communicated with me every step of the way. Everything was resolved in our favor and we felt so comfortable during the process knowing that we were in excellent hands the whole way. In my experience Deanna is one of the few straight-forward, honest divorce attorneys around. I've gotten the feeling from previous attorneys that they were more interested in billing hours first, and my case second. Deanna is just the opposite! She will tell you when to fight, when to settle, and when not to worry. And, she knows the divorce laws in IL inside and out. I have the utmost faith in Deanna, and wouldn't hesitate to use her again. I have no regrets in hiring Deanna and you shouldn't either.

I couldnt be more pleased with the work Deanna and her staff did to bring the sale and purchase of my homes to successful closure. My questions and concerns (and I had many) were answered promptly and clearly in writing and by phone, the correspondence with the lawyers representing the buyers and sellers of my homes protected me and my interests, and the closing went smoothly with explanations of paperwork that helped me to understand every document I was signing. Months after the closing when I had questions about taxes, Deanna continued to work with me. I would recommend Deanna to anyone who is going through the process of buying and/or selling and I would definitely want her to represent me for any of my future real estate transactions.

No court case is ever fun or pretty. It gets real ugly real fast, however Deanna and her staff did everything they could to help me feel comfortable and explain everything I needed to know about exactly what step we were in during court for my child custody case. They respond faster then ever even on weekends. They make sure you know all your options and the truth about what they think a judge will say even if it isn't what you want to hear. Her office would try to get matters resolved out side of the court room and keep me updated on if they heard back from opposing console. Deanna brings a strong female presence to the court room and shows women can be strong and brilliant. If I ever need a lawyer again I will 100 percent be going back with Deanna and her staff, however I do hope to never see them again unless it is outside of the court room! Thanks for being honest and upfront about everything. I am very grateful with the way my court case turned out and while they don't count wins and loses in the court room I can say for a fact my case was a win for them and me!

I have worked for three other family law attorneys in Lake County and left them all by choice, and I can say with 100% honesty that not only Deanna but her entire staff are the most honest, caring and hard-working people that always do their best, fight for their clients and always put their clients best interest first even when more often than not in a divorce or custody matter you are working with good people who are displaying some of their worst behavior because they are highly emotional. Deanna and her staff always think about their clients well being and getting them the best possible outcome that they can. I was 2k miles away during this entire case, but never felt like it because Deanna (and all the employees) are incredibly responsive, regardless of day or time that I needed them. They made me feel like I was a part of their team, working together to make the best of a difficult situation. They are fair, but firm, with their recommendations and I would recommend them to anyone that wants to work with a professional and responsive team.

After our dissatisfaction with two attorneys, we found Deanna.  Finally an attorney that was capable of taking action and the ability to make things happen. Deanna actually listened to our story, as it had some unusual circumstances, and understood very well our situation.  Deanna and her associates were always available for questions and quick to reply.  She had kept us fully informed along the way as of what to expect and how the system is set up so that we understood as well. There were some points along the way when we actually needed conferences, no problem to set up. In the end we have finally come to a satisfying conclusion. I hired Deanna a few years ago for my divorce. Recently, my ex was harassing me so I called Deanna for some advice. I told her to bill me for my time, but she wouldnt. Deanna doesnt always tell me what I want to hear, but she tells me what I need to hear. Since, Ive been divorced, Ive met with her several times to help me with problems with my X. Shes always willing to help even though shes not charging me. Shes always in my corner.

After my first attorney quit on me, I found Deanna's office and she got my divorce case settled pretty quickly unlike my prior attorney who dragged it out. Deanna has also been very patient and understanding of my financial situation and has worked with me on payments. Even though my case has been settled if I have questions I just email her office and she answers them for me. Overall, she is a great lawyer.
