Liz has helped us through a post decree divorce and child custody situation. She knew what we were going through and helped to ease the stress by handling everything. She didn't sugar coat it when we asked difficult questions about what could happen. Liz helped to quickly get to a resolution. We appreciate that we didn't have our case dragged out wasting time and money. The time has come to work on our will and trust. Liz is definitely the person to help us sort out details to ensure everything will be taken care of.

Liz was very attentive to my situation and helped facilitate a very amicable divorce for me and my ex wife. During the process she took time with me to counsel me on things I need to be doing and what would be the most beneficial to help me and my children during that time. Every interaction she always chose to take the high road and it has lead to so much piece of mind instead of fighting and bickering. She is a great person to seek out for many legal services.

As a divorced single mother of five children I highly recommend Liz. She helped get the support my children and I need. Liz did not rush through my case and never overlooked me. She even protected me on issues I did not even think about. I wish I had her years ago, for I am sure I would be in a much better state of day to day living if I had.

Divorce is never a good situation. Liz and her team made me feel heard and also guided me through the process. Liz was very fair and tried to keep all emotion out of the process for me. It can be hard to see clearly when emotions are involved and that's why I needed a lawyer who understands the process and explained everything as we went along. Liz and her staff have continued to be there for me with any questions as I go through my first year of unknowns. She is a phone call or email away. And I truly appreciate her kindness and support.

Liz handled a PI case for me. She did an excellent job and got me what I deserved, given the situation. She was timely and did a great job prepping me for my deposition! I know she is brilliant and knows her stuff!

Liz is an attorney with the utmost character and professionalism in all aspects of her practice. I considered myself fortunate to be representated by her throughout my divorce proceedings and would recommend her to anyone that is going through the process. Many thanks to Liz for being the excellent attorney that she is!

Liz is an excellent attorney and a very compassionate negotiator. She turned what would have been a nightmarish divorce proceeding into a very easy situation, resulting in a fair and comprehensive settlement agreement, and a focus on our child. There is no other attorney Id recommend.

Please look at her Google reviews, 4 done over a year ago, and nothing said about her ability to handle difficult divorce cases. I should have known better when, in the beginning after I hired her, she mistakingly called the wrong person twice! On twin different days-- not just the same day. She informed me it was an accident from her iPhone. I took a day off to meet her, and moved my own clients around, missing on my pay to go to her office. I was told by her staff, she should have left me a message. Which she did not. I told her I will fire her and get another lawyer. She convinced me to give her another try. Shane on me for doing so. There have been many errors she has made, and she even wrote on an email that I shouldn't show up to court, because the judge would make me settle. Come to find out-- it wasn't the case, at all. She also told me not to show up for an OP, which in turn made me look bad-- which she said she didn't want me to go because she wanted to de-escalate the situation. Long story short, she sent me an MSA the morning of court, leaving me no time to look at it. Later that night when I did review it, there were so many mistakes on there-- I knew she copies and pasted someone else's MSA . Before I signed on with her, I asked her, if I couldn't come up with more money after the $5,000 retainer fee I have her, how would she get paid? She said she would be able to get it out of my husband. When she asked for payment I reminded her of that, and she said things changed. Not only is she incompetent, and dis-organized, she is also a liar. Another attorney looking out for herself. My new lawyer has me reporting everything for the ARDC. Phone call history, and emails show it all. Please don't be stupid and hire her! Her staff is wonderful-- she is not!

Elisabeth Wakeman is an unprofessional and unethical lawyer. She lies about EVERYTHING, is very unorganized and incompetent as other clients of hers and other attorneys in McHenry County describe her.On October 8th, 2021, Elizabeth Wakeman received a judgment against her and her client Christine Van De Wege by the McHenry County Court for violating the Supreme Court rule 137.  The purpose of rule 137 is to prevent a litigant  from abusing the judicial process by penalizing the party who brings  a vexatious or harassing action without a sufficient legal or factual foundation.  Elizabeth Wakeman and her client abused the judicial system by filing frivolous motions to threaten and harass me. False allegations were the cornerstone of their motion. Finally the court found in my favor  and imposed sanctions in the amount of $22,000 against both of them jointly and severally for violating supreme court ruled 137.  You can fact check the case #09DV139 in McHenry country court house or simply email me [email protected] for a copy of the court ruling.  This is public information.Elizabeth Wakeman simply files motions for her client alleging violations of a court order without reading or understanding what the original court order entitles. A reasonable inquiry would have readily exposed the shortcomings of their motion.  She created a laundry list of bogus claims and threw everything against the courtroom wall to see what sticks -  says a judge from McHenry county. An attorney you want to stay away from!Keith Powell
