Fennell, Briasco & Associates

I am a physician ex-pat who has spent well north of $30k (I did not add it up - too depressing) on Caryn Fennel and her staff for litigation extending over greater than two years. Overall, I found her services lacking in many respects, most notably with the fact that she filed things with the court prior to running them by me like every other lawyer I have had. This resulted in multiple missteps and problems that she blamed on me even though I requested to see the documents prior to her filing them. In my opinion, verbal communication has faults with understanding and so sharing written documents prior to filing them with a judge seems pretty simple and straightforward. Obviously not. The communication was terrible. I would send emails that were not returned for weeks. When I would ask again two weeks later, she would get mad at me, dress me down and write angry emails accusing me of being hostile. In reading another review on Google, this is obviously a pattern. We had a disagreement over how to proceed at the end of my case and instead of acting in my best interests, she filed a motion to remove herself from the case against my wishes and then charged me for the privilege of being fired. When I confronted her on it, she then threatened me repeatedly both in a financial sense and in the sense of acting further against my interests in court because I refused to pay her morally repugnant bill. I requested a new bill minus the disputed fees and Caryn Fennel's reply was 'this is not how this works.' She refused to even consider not charging me for her own actions and decisions that went against my specific instructions and against my best legal interests. She then again threatened me with a bad outcome in my case if I did not pay her bill immediately. Despite paying every bill on time except for less than 1% of overall fees she assessed me, her unprofessionalism was striking, persistent and worrisome. When I asked for legal advice on how to file something with the courts opposing her motion, she refused to give me legal advice even though I was her client. For at least the last 6 months of our relationship, I was scared to email her as her responses were always so aggressive and derogatory. I would run as far away from this law firm as is possible. In retrospect, I obviously should not have stuck with her, but after awhile, it seemed like paying a different lawyer several thousand dollars just to get up to speed made no sense. I wish I had never hired Caryn Fennel and I hope that you don't have the same regret. My wife likes her significantly less than me which is why I am writing this review.

Of course one always hopes to never have a legal matter to deal with in life, but sadly a family member found themselves in need of an attorney. We all chipped in and began to look for and researched attorneys in Woodstock, GA where my sister lived. We used Google search and Avvo and landed on this law firm time after time due to the stellar reviews. We scheduled a consult with Attorney Fennell and was so impressed with her level of knowledge of the law, we hired on the spot. Best decision ever! I don't know where to begin---the level of compassion and professionalism by the entire staff there is off the charts. Attorney Fennell was very accessible, and always explained everything to the nth degree. When it came time to go to court, we all flew in to support my sister. To observe attorney Fennell in that courtroom---and for her to know that case like the back of her own hand, was awe inspiring---she was unflappable. Even the Judge leaned in when attorney Fennell was speaking because she was unwavering on her points of the law. A moment of levity came when the opposing counsel stood before the court and said 'well Mrs. Fennell, that's not the way we do it up here in these parts', to which attorney Fennell replied, 'with all due respect, I am here today to apply the law---even-----up here in these parts'. Even the Judge up there in those parts, found that amusing. My sister received a very good result in her legal matter, she won custody of her children and our entire family gained, who we feel, is the very best attorney in GA.

Caryn and her team are passionate about what they do, which translates into fighting for you. Caryn talks with you about your case...then she takes your problem, makes it her problem, and works to get it resolved. We had less than 4 days to prepare for my case and Caryn and her team knocked it out of the park. We were ready for the hearing. You won't go wrong with Caryn.

This firm is the best. The staff is very nice. They all do anything to help clients and made sure my case finished without unnecessary hearings and fees. Ms. Fennell took the time to explain everything to me and gave me more information just in the consultation than any other lawyer i talked to. I could not be happier with the results of my case. I highly recommend this firm to anyone looking for a passionate group of people who care about their clients.

I hired Caryn to represent me in my recent divorce. As anyone who has been through a divorce knows, these situations are tough as they are fraught with emotion (on both sides). Caryn and Kelly went above and beyond for my husband and I when we decided enough was enough & we needed to gain custody of his daughters who we basically raised from the time they were both toddlers. Knowing this would not be an easy achievement as weve been battling the court system for many years off and on with their birth mother, we knew Caryn could handle the case and she did just that. My girls werent forced to testify (although this isnt always the case) and her entire team worked very hard to make sure our girls were where they were safe and taken care of. Without Caryn and her dedicated team, we would probably still be in a tug of war battle which is not good for anyone but especially not good for our children. Thank you so much for all you did for us. We know its your profession, but its people like you that do go above and beyond and fight for what is right and help change lives and for us, thats exactly what you did and that is something we can never be more grateful for and never be able to thank you enough for.

Several years ago i first hired Caryn when she was a new lawyer. I have used her ever since for five different cases she helped me with including criminal issues and family issues. She is committed, compassionate and very skilled at the law. She was worth every dollar. I would rather not need a lawyer but if i need one I want it to be Caryn every single time.

A great lawyer who is tenacious and fights for truth and brings resultsI hired Caryn in the middle of my case after an incredible amount of deception and criminal actions against me were discovered. Me and my children were thrown into what came to be over a 2 year legal battle for just a short 3 year marriage from a woman I met on the internet. Defending my prenup agreement and having to watch my children be thrown into this divorce and go through such a traumatic experience was heart wrenching. The incredible amount of research and investigation that had to be done to disprove all the lies was incredibly substantial. The incredible emotional and financial trauma to my life and the lives of my children is something that unfortunately will be very hard to fully recover from. However, the end results because of Caryn and her team, gave my children a chance to move forward in the best way we can.There are so many things that I have learned about the legal system and found out that there are ways that others will find a way to abuse it at every opportunity. I believe the fault lies with those that abuse the process that is intended for those that are truly harmed. That is where Caryn comes in. While I will say that I am somewhat passive by nature, my passivity and trusting nature is what got me in that position to begin with. I was first overwhelmed by how Caryn seemed to be such a bulldog for parental rights and those rights of children. Caryn and her team went to work right away and eventually won our case. We came back from an incredibly poor position because of the deceitful and criminal actions of some of the parties early on in the case. The world needs attorneys like Caryn Fennell. Had I not hired her, gave up and just capitulated to the other sides demands I would have essentially lost my relationship with my children, all based on nothing but lies and deception. I hired caryn twice in the few years because of I saw her in the courtroom in cobb county one day and she was unbelievably good. She knew the detailes of her case and the judge kept nodding his head when she spoke. I asked the guy sitting next to me who she was and he said that she was his wife's lawyer and she was worth every penny they paid to have her help them in their case. I chased her down the hall and asked for her card. I hated to need a lawyer but i am glad i hired caryn and her staff. They are wonderful and they dont put up with bad people. She once told me she would rather fire a client than work for someone who is a bad person and i believe her. It is impossible to not like caryn and her firm and if someone does it is probably because they are just a bad person. She was worth every dolllar i ever paid her. i am just glad I caught her before she got on the elevator that day because i would never want a different lawyer. Thank you caryn and your team.

DO NOT USE THIS ATTORNEY!!! Caryn Fennell comes across as a tough bulldog litigator in the courtroom. And for some, that may be the case. But in my case, Caryn was very argumentative and on several occasions threatened to drop my case trying to classify me as a hostile client. Caryn would not take into consideration ALL of the facts concerning my criminal charges. In fact, she only requested discovery from the DA just days before the calendar call which was just one week from trial! I was informed by an anonymous source that Caryn requested to withdraw from the case and at the same time made a request for discovery! Now, who does that? That is reckless conduct and makes absolutely no sense; but it happened.Caryns accessment of my case was completely wrong; which was only because she never had the information from the prosecutor therefore, she could not make a proper recommendation or negotiate a serious plea agreement. Caryn was more focused on being a community activist, delivering bottled water to the residents of Florida instead of examining the charges and advising me of the best legal approach to reaching an acceptable resolution. I had spent over $4,000 to her firm to handle a divorce and pending criminal charges. During the five months of being a client, her office staff lost documents and blamed LegalShield for loosing the documents. Then they lost a check and blamed that on the US Postal Service. I finally had to retain another attorney, that was more familiar with the judicial system in Cobb County and respected among his peers. Caryn Fennell had never been heard of in Cobb County and gets the majority of her clients through LegalShield.I was advised that attorneys that rely on agencies like LegalShield to feed them clients, are not very reliable attorneys. Well, in my opinion that is why I am writing this review. I want to bring some awareness about this attorney based on my personal experience. I had to retain another more experienced attorney at the last minute to negotiate a much better plea agreement with the exact same prosecutor Caryn Fennell said refused to make another offer!!! Thank God I knew better than to accept the offer Caryn suggested. Now, thanks to my new attorney, my charges will be dismissed in a year and my criminal record will be completely expunged.I have canceled my membership with LegalShield and filed a formal complaint with them regarding their referral of Caryn Fennell. I have read previous reviews on Caryn however, based on my experience with Caryn and her inefficient staff, my review can not be a favorable review. I do not recommend this attorney to anyone to handle any legal matter.

Caryn helped my entire family after my sister suddenly died and my niece was orphaned a few days later when her father to died to. Caryn worked wonders for my family and my niece. i will forever thank her for what she did for all of us. I've had too many lawyers but Caryn is the top gun.

A few attributes one should seek in a lawyer are experience, sensativity and good communication. All of which I found in Caryn Fennel and Lee Fitzpatrick. Their extensive experience in family law proved invaluable to the success of my lawsuit. I was also greatful for the empathy I was shown during such a stressful time in my life. From start to finish, I was kept informed and was walked step-by-step through how the trial would proceed. Attorney Fennell is the most competent attorney I've ever worked with in any different practice, business or personal. I had a different attorney before Caryn that really let me down in many aspects on my divorce. He wasn't aggressive, didn't do discovery like the opposing counsel and we got run over. I interviewed dozens of attorneys after him but I didnt realize how bad it was until I hired Caryn - and regret not having her the entire process. She probably would have saved me tens of thousands of dollars and the divorce process may have taken 6 months instead of 2.5 years. Her knowledge of the law, her determination in making things happen, her demeanor in and out of the court room, she worked tirelessly on my case even on the weekends, her staff is great to work with, and her arguments and credibility in front of the judge I give all these things 10 out of 10 stars! There was literally a moment during a not pretty final hearing in front of the judge where I turned and looked at her senior paralegal and said My God, Caryn is amazing at what she does because she went point by point nailing down every aspect of my case for the judge after the opposing attorney tried to come at me and efficiently proved that so much of what they were saying were lies. Caryn, I cant say it enough but thank you for the way you handled all aspects of my case. As you know, my only regret is that I didnt have you during the first part of my divorce or I wouldnt have gotten run over like I did with my previous attorney.
