Without the expertise of attorney Dawn Smith and the capability of paralegal Stephanie Edwards-Underwood, my divorce would have resulted in moving to a distant state and living with family members. Not only did they ensure financial security for me but their firm also created a culture of support and kindness which is unparalleled. Legal assistant Sandra Mallory joined with Dawn and Stephanie to consistently assure me that I had the very best family law legal team and that they would take care of me. She was spot on!

Sheri, Stephanie, and Kristen Files had their hands full responding to harassing motions, absurd accusations, incompetent emails, and postponed court dates. (It took a village) It was comforting to know that they were handling it all for us. We felt minimum disruption from someone determined to try and cause destruction. In the courtroom Kristen was completely prepared and a force to be reckoned with. When it comes to getting justice served, I can't imagine hiring anyone else!

Had high hopes in the beginning. Kristen seemed really with it. In hind sight, I realize she didn't fully grasp how high conflict the situation was. She was late to mediation. She seemed distracted and unable to focus on the pertinent issues. Ms. Files got into a written back and forth with opposing counsel that pushed back filing of financial paperwork for child support. I was asked the same questions multiple times, I had to repeat questions multiple times before I was given answers. I gave her office explicit directions from DCSS regarding filling paperwork for the income deduction order and she did not follow them, resulting in me having to go the DCSS office to properly file paperwork after four months of incorrect payments.

Went in for some divorce advise, for a divorce where the wife abandoned the husband, and the the lawyer was walking around with a handheld calculator to ensure that every last minute was billed...not even a free 1/2 or 1 hour consultations.
