If you want your expectations lowered go meet with many of the other lawyers out there but if you want to formulate a plan to fight for what you believe in and WIN, then hire David Roberts. After deciding to fire my first lawyer, I met with many others before hiring David Roberts. My case was a divorce after 11 years of marriage and 2 kids. As an active Father, my goal was to keep my kids 80% of the time and pay no alimony based on the fact that my wife had her own career, retirement plan and health insurance. I kept being told by all the other lawyers I met with that I needed to lower my expectations. They kept telling me there was no way I would get more than 50% with my kids and I would have to pay alimony because I made almost 3 times as much as my wife. When I met with Mr. Roberts he told me that it would be very hard to get what I wanted and that we would need to formulate a plan to try and make it work. Mr Roberts put together a case plan we followed it and we won! When the case was over I got my kids 80% and I paid no alimony. We also settled in mediation without an expensive and lengthy trial. Doreen Valentin, Mr Robertss legal aid was absolutely the best! She made sure I got through all the paperwork and kept all the pleadings and filings organized in a cloud file for easy review. The billing was fair and accurate and when the case was over I even received small refund on the remainder of the retainer.

I hired Dave to help me win a modification of an impossibly large alimony payment. A previous attorney failed miserably and everyone said my case was near impossible to win -- especially against a very powerful opposing counsel from a large prestigious firm. To say that Dave 'out-lawyered' the opposing counsel would be an understatement. He totally dominated them and outclassed them. He crafted a brilliant legal strategy which was convincing to the judge, worked closely with me developing our case, and gave courtroom performances worthy of the best movies! We won convincingly and my legal fees (which had to be paid to me by ex-wife at the end!) almost half of what opposing counsel billed. Dave's office staff including his paralegals was consistent, available, smart and helpful. Could not ask for a better experience in what was a difficult and stressful situation. I am a professional, well educated, successful father of a wonderful son who found himself in a family law dispute. For certain, one of the best decisions I made in my life was to retain, David Roberts as my family law attorney. Allow me to illustrate the background of my case.My family law case prior to retaining David Roberts was out of control with no direction, guidance or strategy to create a solution that was best for me or my family. My son was being used as leverage to extort money from me using false allegations because I requested, per my rights: to have more quality time to parent him. Initially, I was angry, confused and didnt trust anyone to assist me based on the history of family law as I understood it. As fate would have it, I had a consultation with David Roberts based on a recommendation by a person on his staff named Lauren Gallant. She said, if you dont retain David Roberts, at the very least you should consult with him because he is highly intelligent. I must add, I already had an attorney before this consultation.After that consultation, I retained David Roberts and released my previous attorney. After retaining David Roberts as my family law attorney, my case had direction, guidance, and a plan of action that ensured latitude, flexibility and firm aggressiveness in protecting my rights. I did my work and supplied Mr. Roberts and his staff with facts substantiated by more facts to support our objectives. We had a tough job to do and as an attorney/client team, we had to work together. After supplying the facts, I got out of Mr. Roberts way, and allowed him to use his expertise to apply the law to my case to protect and secure my rights. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND, David Roberts for any area of law his firm offers. In addition, if you dont retain him, at the very least, consult with him. Any exposure to their expertise will also be one of the best decisions in life you will make. Allow me to close with this analogy. Something Ive learned through the process of dealing with family court system is that there is a tremendous amount of information, policies and procedures that most people are unaware of. It can be very intimidating and most will find themselves on a stranded island of ignorance if they attempt to go at it themselves. Ive found that it takes professional experience in dealing with the courts and with the Roberts Family Law Firm they have been exemplary at that.One of the best ways to get rid of the fear of the unknown is through information and education. My experience with Mr. Roberts, Ms. Gallant and Mr. Sempier has been outstanding when it comes to being informed and educated. Ms. Lauren Brusca, is a great attorney! I hired her twice for different cases and each time, she did not disappoint, she genuinely cares for her clients and I'm very grateful to have hired her as my attorney, I had a different attorney before her who did not accomplish much in my case, I was very frustrated and hopeless at that point 2 years had passed and thousands of dollars spent and no results on my case, until I found Ms. Brusca and she exceeded my expectations, she went above and beyond and accomplish more in less than a month than the other attorney did in those 2 years. DO NOT HIRE THIS LAW FIRM.WHAT I AM GOING TO SAY IS THE HONEST TRUTH. There is nothing aggressive about this law firm when handling a custody case. They are not here to help they are only here to take your money. Trust this review, this firm is what gives attorneys bad names. I hired this firm in January 2017 and separated from them in September 2017. I hired them just to establish time sharing and child support with the mother of my child. I had already previously filled 70% of all paper work you will need in a standard custody case. I only needed this firm to attend court ( going in front of a judge) Key points that stood out : 1. Lauren Brusca, will show up to mediation and hearings unprepared and try to update herself on whats going on 15 min before going into a hearing. This was extremely frustrating especially when she will consistently FLUFF her billing statement by charging 20-100 $ per email then have no clue whats going on or what was discuss in the prior weeks. She will file motions and request documents that are completely irrelevant to your case. Then the more important things like getting a mediation agreement signed by your judge she would forget to do. This women will play on your fears of not being with your child/children and con you into agreeing to things that by no way is beneficial to you and your case. She will drag things out make mistakes and then charge you for it. I WAS CHARGED A TOTAL OF 8,082.50. I LITERALLY HAVE NO LEGAL TIME SHARING, NO PATERNITY RIGHT,NO COURT DATE TO GO BEFORE A JUDGE. NOTHING AT ALL. THEY ARE NOT FOR MEN/ WOMEN TRYING TO DO WHATS RIGHT THEY ARE ONLY HERE TO MILK YOU FOR YOUR FUNDS. THEY WILL NOT RESOLVE YOU CUSTODY ISSUES.DAVID T ROBERTS: IM GOING TO WRITE ALL THIS IN BOLD BECAUSE HE IS A NO COMPASSIONATE AND NON PROFESSIONAL PERSON. I WAS ASKED TO MEET WITH ROBERT AND LAUREN DUE TO ME HAVING ISSUES WITH THE WAY LAUREN WAS HANDLING MY CASE. IN MY CASE THERE WAS SITUATIONS OF IMMORAL ACTIVITIES THE MOTHER OF MY CHILD WAS PARTICIPATING IN ( STRIPPING/ESCORTING). ROBERT BROUGHT THESE TOPICS UP. HE BEGAN TO TALK EXPLICIT ABOUT WHAT SHE COULD BE DOING INSIDE THESE CLUBS, HOW MUCH she could make IN CERTAIN ACTS, HOW A FEW OF HIS BUDDIES WERE LOOKING TO OWN A PARTICULAR STRIP CLUB. HE LITERALLY HAD SO MUCH TO SAY ABOUT THIS IN A WAY THAT SHOWED HE PARTICIPATED IN THIS TYPE TRANSACTIONS. AS HE CONTINUED TO TALK FILTHY ABOUT THE MOTHER OF MY CHILD HE THEN STARTED TO REALIZE IT WAS MAKING ME UNCOMFORTABLE AND IT WAS INAPPROPRIATE AND DISRESPECTFUL. HE THEN TRIED TO SWITCH THE TOPIC AND TALK ABOUT HIS BABY MOTHER AND HOW HE HAS TO PAY HER SO MUCH MONEY. THIS GUY HAS NO SOUL OR DOES HE CARE ABOUT PEOPLE AND THEIR SITUATIONS ESPECIALLY HIS CLIENTS.

Worst family law attorney I've ever come across. He was a smooth talker, but rarely, if ever backed that up with his actions. After spending tens of thousands of dollars we have little to show for it.We were pummeled by the opposing attorney in court and, in the end, Roberts could be seen fumbling through papers with very little idea of the details of our case. Then he had the audacity to ask if we were happy it went so well. That was a distinct "ARE YOU KIDDING?!" moment.The only aggressive thing he ever did was blame and belittle us and, of course, collect our money. There's lots of proof of this behavior so this post needs to stay - he'll try to have it removed, I'm sure.Please don't let this guy represent you. You will regret it.

Terrible lawyer. We had to explain the basic details of our case every time we spoke with him and continuously got charged for things that to this day aren't clear. The representation was pitiful. My family was not protected. We paid tens of thousands and Roberts did not fight for us. We lost, badly. The opposition attorney was far better. I DO NOT RECOMMEND David Roberts.
