Without question Debra and her team of attorneys are simply the best! Everyone wishing to retain counsel would like to know that their attorney has their best interest at heart. Unfortunately this isnt always the case. From my experience lawyers seem to treat you as a number passing through. A means to profit and their own gain. This was not what I experienced with Schoenberg Law. From day one I felt they took my case seriously - calls returned, questions answered, they listened!!! I called late on a weekday and Deborah kindly allowed me some time when we all want to go home. She was a straight shooter who kept the path of our conversation tight as she allowed me 30+ minutes of her time. I never went in and talked to her personally but when I called to get advice she was really rude. It said online free consultation but when I called and told her I wanted to ask her a few questions about the divorce and the papers,she told me 'so now I'm a free consultation service. She was really rude and stuck up so I only asked her one question. She answered then just hung up on me. I suggest find a better lawyer, one that isn't rude and unprofessional like this one. Often this is just to get you in their office and start charging. I was referred to Debra by a friend and didnt go right away. I thought I needed a man to fight a man. WOW was I wrong. It takes a strong woman to hit back, intelligent and unrelenting. My flight isnt over but I feel strongly supported with this team leading me.

A devastating experience of being fleeced by an unscrupulous and predatory lawyer. This is not a bitter review written in retribution for a terrible and emotionally grueling experience. Its a genuine attempt to save others from a similar experience. If youre involved in a family court (or other case) you are emotionally Deborah Schoenberg will exploit this. The office has a certain feel of a dramatic performance designed to show you a tough yet sincerely caring lawyer. The retainer will be hefty but for the quality of course you expect it. And then the game starts. Research, wheel spinning, and suddenly the retainer is expended in a matter of weeks and yet nothing has happened. Your told firmly that the case is difficult and another hefty retainer is needed now all the mover is gone. Rinse and repeat over and over until youve been fleeced. Not every lawyer is unscrupulous. But this one is.

I initially found Debra Schoenberg but did not go with her because her office location was far from my area. So, I hired an attorney who lived in my area and that turned out to be my biggest mistake ever.In due time, I pivoted and hired Debra to represent my divorce case. As soon as Debra took over my case, she immediately coordinated a team with the right experts. I would undoubtedly be nowhere without her top-notch professional services. No one wants to have to deal with the kind of crisis that requires the services of this type of law group. Our lawyer in Texas couldn't help us with California courts, so I had to trust in the power of Google to find someone who could help us. Our case was unlike any the Schoenberg Law Group had faced before, and they had less than two days to prepare for a hearing because we only received notice one day prior to engaging their services. We just happened to be lucky enough to have Charlie Young assigned to our case. I really can't say enough good things about how he treated us and what a good job he did under very trying circumstances. Debra R. Schoenberg, Esq. is by far the best family lawyer. I have known her for the past 19 years, but fortunately for her, not for me, she moved from VT to CA. She retrieved my children after they were stolen. She is both powerful and respectful in court. She and anyone she works with would go above and beyond for you. Years later, my own ex-husband said that he actually liked Debra better than his own lawyer. Go to this practice if you need experts in Family Law.

Horrible lawyer. She dragged my case out for well over a year. When we went to court she didn't even ask or get my approval for anything, just acted according to her own agenda and when I confronted her she was rude, condescending and unprofessional. She's basically a con artist who ran my case up to close to $100,000 and I ended up with nothing. She was very unethical in numerous practices. When I tried to fire her she ignored me and kept billing me, sucking up the last of what little I ended up with from my child support arrears. Read the hidden reviews on Yelp, there are apparently many others who had a similar experience. Dont be fooled by her fake empathy and nice downtown office, she has to pay for her scam somehow. Once she has your money she will do a 180. Trust me, she cares nothing for you or your family. DO NOT BE FOOLED by all the fake reviews on here posted by her paid staff. There are many good lawyers in the Bay Area, do your research and find someone ethical.
